You know, I'm not sure I know what sorghum is exactly.

sorghum molasses is an old Southern type syrup . . . Try it you'll like it . . .

Grits with lots of butter and salt and pepper are almost like being in heaven here on earth:) . The only problem for me is being diabetic I can only have them once in a while:(. Would love to have some again right now but had them earlier in the week so have to wait some more to get them again:sigh:

Grits are very popular in the south, I was surprised when I went north and asked for grits and they said, What’s Grits? They brought me cream of wheat. LOL
Grits are best with butter salt pepper and cheese. Grits were the first food we ate as a baby.

Torah, yes, grits are hominey, however before they are ground, they must be soaked in a lime solution that will eat away the hard shell section. Otherwise, like eating popcorn, you will get slivers of undisolved shell. Not enjoyable when it gets in between the teeth.

For those of you with a sweet tooth, add brown sugar to your grits until you have a sweet flavor you like, layer it in an oven bake bowl. Then layer the top entirely with sliced strawberries and sprinkle sugar in the raw on top. Place in your oven while it is in broiler mode to carmelize the sugar on top.

I apologize if that was too much. Sometimes my love of food gets the best of me. I have been blessed by the Lord to have such a love for food. I have been in the culinary business going on 21 years now. I have had the pleasure of being an Executive Chef for multiple concepts and I would not change what I do, save for the Lord.

It would be my honor to be here for any of you that may have questions about food. If I don't know the answer, I will find it, and I look forward to learning from all of you.

:)
