Well, maybe its just me but I do notice a significant difference (in qualities of a mate, mentality, etc.) in a single person 30 plus, when compared to a single that is in their late teens/early twenties. Some of the post I read in the genera singles forum leaves me thinking "wait 'til you get older and experience life more - stuff is NEVER that easy".

Anyway, I guess we could change the name to "Seasoned" Singles ?

i agree beauty that in some of the singles threads i keep thinking.. just wait a few years and this will seem totally different than today.... we were all that young once, BUT i don't feel old!!! seasoned sounds like we are popcorn! can't we just say 30s+? but really, there is a huge difference between a 35 yr old and a 55 yr old. there should be another sub category.

it doesn't jim, it's just that labeling us old and over the hill at 30 seems kind of... mean? i think it's probably a good idea to wait to marry til you are over 30 anyway, you are such a different person than when in your 20s. i am not in the later stages of my life (at least i hope not)!! i was mostly being silly when i made this post.

I'm with you Kellyc. I'm not quite mid-thirties yet (but I am banging down the door). I saw this and first thought, "Thank God, now I don't have to hang out with the kids I babysitted for," then I read the "later stages" thing and felt like I should go take some Geritol.

That's cool. I guess I just don't mind being thought of as "older" or whatever. The guys I play sports with are usually younger than me, and it's kind of a joke that any newcomers will underestimate me, to their detriment. It's like I want to be thought of as old and feeble!

Its funny you say this. I have to remind myself that I am 30. I still shock myself when I tell someone my age. All because I do not feel 30 in the least.

Something does NOT seem right about that. I have to agree with you kellyc. I almost fell over when I saw where I'm almost able to qualify for AARP!!! Yikes. Where are we headed when 30ish is considered "later in life???"

and people are living longer and longer! probably we will have at least 75-80 yrs total, so we will be OLD for around 50 years!!!! at least according to this forum.
