Professional counselors may not be available without alerting parents who might be hostile to a gay child. Pastors, priests, and rabbis might react poorly as well.
You will explain who in any of these threads has said, "do whatever feels good," won't you? And not ask your teammates to censure me for having the temerity to expect an answer of you when you keep repeating it? Thanks for your expected response.
You will, of course, prove where in this or any other thread discussing homosexuality over four years, anyone claiming to be a Christians has ever said someone should be told "do whatever feels good." Aren't you the member who was complaining about other people making false statements about what people's motives were?
Minors should have good guidance from mentors who know what they are talking about.

No one will tell them to do whatever feels good.
I hope you reported the post.Professional counselors may be available without alerting parents. Particularly in the U.S., where everything is about individual rights.
Pastors, priests, and rabbis might react extremely well. Many have had a education in this area, and/or know other clergy who do.
I have personally seen on C.F. an adult lesbian advise a questioning teen to go ahead and experiment with sex toys and fisting.
Also see questions 3, 5, and 6 in the poll.
you're funny...Professional counselors may be available without alerting parents. Particularly in the U.S., where everything is about individual rights
i belive the help should be given from people who would not act dogmatically, telling the kid there is a right thing to do, a wrong one and that something it's ok and something is not, but would just comfort and inform him, so he can take a more aware and relaxed decision.Awesome point you make. What do they know about homosexuality and Christianity/monotheism: sexually confused 14yos need only be referred to counselors who tell their patients that it is okay to sin and not obey the teachings of the Bible or Jesus. Also, since this kids parents are against the lifestyle, tell him to break another commandment on top of it.
Darn tootin'!Professional counselors may not be available without alerting parents who might be hostile to a gay child. Pastors, priests, and rabbis might react poorly as well.
No one will tell them to do whatever feels good. What they need to know is that things will turn out okay. They need to know that God loves them regardless of whether they are attracted to the same sex or not. They need to know that continued attractions to the same sex are not a sign that they are bound for Hell. Too many kids get told that something must be wrong with them if their prayers to become heterosexual are not answered, conclude that because their prayers haven't been answered God doesn't love them, and kill themselves in despair. They need hope.
Some do not - some have only their zealous right wing agenda to push on these poor questioning kids. And you don't think professional counselors, or pastor, priest, rabbi, know what they are talking about?

I would let him know that our view of our sexuality changes over time
I think the father is wrong for imposing his prejudice on his son, and also for badmouthing something his son clearly values, but that is not something I can tell the child--that is a message for the father.
from a laic point of view sex is not different than any other thing, so as you woul give a someone tecnical informations about how trains work, so you would do about sex.So basically, you would provide minors with information about sexual matters without their parents knowing ? This is your right to do so ?
i would give information, not advice and surely nothing moral, morality is a personal thing. So you give out sexual advice to kids but not moral Christian advice ?

i would never talk with my father about sex, maybe my mum, but still parents are not the best people for a kid to talk about sex with.

but, ehi, isn't abstinence a sexual advice?
Can you cite that post?
I hope you reported the post.
