Same here Paul. I live on the Kentucky/Tennessee state line. I have to travel all the way to Nashville for free-range beef and chicken. I don't know what part of South Carolina you are in, but you might want to go to wildoats.com and do a store search to find out if there is a location close by. That is an awesome supermarket. You just have to keep in mind that they specialize in whole foods and the like, so you wont find Twinkies, etc., although they do have a bakery.pdp27 said:Free range beef in South Carolina is tough to get consistently unless you buy a whole, half, or quarter. I haven't been able to do that just yet.
Mostly from all the **** we dump into the water supply (pollution). Don't know if this applies to all fish, but here in Michigan we're aware of the problem. We're surrounded by water, and part Lake Erie caught on fire once from all the stuff floating in it.Tuffguy said:Why is seafood full of toxins? I really haven't heard this before,,can someone back it up?
This reminds me of something I heard on the movie Drop Dead Gorgeous. The character played by Kirstin Dunst said that she never eats shellfish, because her mother told her you should never eat anything that carries its house on its back, because you never know the last time it cleaned house.Katydid said:Shellfish can be placed in a body of water that is contaminated with cholera bacteria, and they will purify the water. Shrimp, oysters, crab, scallops and mussels are particularly efficient at this. They filter large volumes of water every day. Sewage laden with chemicals, toxins and harmful bacteria, parasites and viruses become concentrated in those shellfish.
Are you saying Jesus didn't eat fish?Jinn_Ku said:The general guidlines would be to eat foods as close to nature as possible. Jesus didn't consume high fructose corn syrup or Spam. The diet (and book) talk about the importance of free-range beef compared to those raised in feed-lots, eating lots of fresh vegetables (and which ones were availible to Jesus), the health benefits of a Jewish kosher diet (seafood and pork are full of toxins), and how dangerous processed foods are.
Hope that was helpful.
