What would happen if we find Noah's ark? How would this change the scientific community? What are your thoughts on the search for Noah's ark?

Ive always wondered about this, but wouldn't the wood decompose after so long? Wouldn't we EXPECT not to find it ieven if it existed in the first place?

Certainly such a find would suggest the need for a lot of discussion. Of course the obvious question would be whether or not it was the same Ark claimed to have been built by Noah in the Bible. Beyond that we would need to discuss the improbability that there was ever a global flood.

We could ponder the same question about leprechauns, unicorns and gremlins. The scientific impact would be significant in any of those cases. But as long as what we find is continuing evidence against the flood story, unicorns, gremlins and leprechauns, speculation to the contrary probably doesn't serve much purpose.

As for the photos, I assume you are aware that an expedition to the mountain top in the past year or so found no evidence of any kind indicating any sort of man-made, wooden structure.

I think that if we did find Noah's Ark (and we identify it as his) it would stirr up more questions than answers. If found the question of animal distribution around the world still exsists. How are there soo many species of animals, how did they get to where they are, and why aren't the animals in the sea dead (becuase a change in salinity would kill nearly all live both in fresh & salt water)?

Some prefer to believe in their interpretation of a book than in the reality of the evidence. Personally, I have no problem with literal interpretation of the documentation. I just think it points to the inaccuracy of the documents and gives clues as to their origin.

The fact that someone built a big boat at some time in history doesn;t seem particularly unreasonable, so I would say the discovery of it would change very little.

Whilst I do belive in Noah and A flood and that he built the arc, I dont see how the existence of it in any way leads creedence to the literal interpretation of the global flood.

Yes. That's the point of peer-review. You get opinions from a large sampling of respected sources. If any of them are significantly dissimilar to the others, they have to justify their findings to the others. As such, they're very cautious about presenting any kind of bias which can't be supported strictly on the evidence. It's a check and balance system.
