EDIT:The title of this thread needs to be revised.

What would happen if we find Noah's ark? How would this change the scientific community? What are your thoughts on the search for Noah's ark?

This site claims that we have found noah's ark: http://www.arkdiscovery.com/noah's_ark.htm(Though many are hesitant with Ron Wyatt.)

What would happen if the Voyager spacecraft finds remains of the Death Star?

What are your thoughts on the search for Noah's ark?

It is probably the equivalent of trying to document a ghost.

Christian perspective;this site claims that we have found noah's ark(interesting read)

In what peer-reviewed science journal can I read about this discovery?

Certainly such a find would suggest the need for a lot of discussion. Of course the obvious question would be whether or not it was the same Ark claimed to have been built by Noah in the Bible. Beyond that we would need to discuss the improbability that there was ever a global flood.

We could ponder the same question about leprechauns, unicorns and gremlins. The scientific impact would be significant in any of those cases. But as long as what we find is continuing evidence against the flood story, unicorns, gremlins and leprechauns, speculation to the contrary probably doesn't serve much purpose.

As for the photos, I assume you are aware that an expedition to the mountain top in the past year or so found no evidence of any kind indicating any sort of man-made, wooden structure.

step one, avoid the question. Step two, speculate. Step three, wave the peer review flag.

I rather thought the question was addressed with like examples.

Wasn't speculation what was called for in the OP?

Is there something wrong with asking for an unbiased viewpoint based in evidence?

Step one, make up a hypothetical question. Step two, pretend that it is not hypothetical. Step three, ignore all of the evidence that falsifies a global flood. Step four, claim that you are being persecuted. Step five, post links to Ron Wyatt's wild adventures.

since we know the earth was never flooded why would anyone think we would ever find the ark?

I think that if we did find Noah's Ark (and we identify it as his) it would stirr up more questions than answers. If found the question of animal distribution around the world still exsists. How are there soo many species of animals, how did they get to where they are, and why aren't the animals in the sea dead (becuase a change in salinity would kill nearly all live both in fresh & salt water)?

Some prefer to believe in their interpretation of a book than in the reality of the evidence. Personally, I have no problem with literal interpretation of the documentation. I just think it points to the inaccuracy of the documents and gives clues as to their origin.

this was really for "Kramer" alone. Every tiem I see a thread started like this, he persists in posting NOT answering the question.

The fact that someone built a big boat at some time in history doesn;t seem particularly unreasonable, so I would say the discovery of it would change very little.

Whilst I do belive in Noah and A flood and that he built the arc, I dont see how the existence of it in any way leads creedence to the literal interpretation of the global flood.

Just my ramblings

Blessings to you all

Yes. That's the point of peer-review. You get opinions from a large sampling of respected sources. If any of them are significantly dissimilar to the others, they have to justify their findings to the others. As such, they're very cautious about presenting any kind of bias which can't be supported strictly on the evidence. It's a check and balance system.

FYI, it is Mt. Arrarat, not Arafat.

Actually,its Mt. Ararat(one "r") according to nationmaster.com.

Mount Ararat (Turkish A?r? Da??; Armenian ??????; Persian ??????; Hebrew ????, Standard Hebrew Ararat, Tiberian Hebrew ??r?r??), the tallest peak in modern Turkey, is a snow-capped dormant volcanic cone, located in the far northeast of Turkey, 16 km west of Iran and 32 km south of Armenia. The Book of Genesis identifies this mountain as the resting place of Noah's Ark after the "great flood" described there.http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Mount-Ararat

Genesis 8:4
and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat

There will always be a search for Noah's Ark and people who will invest money into it.

What would happen if we did indeed find Noah's ark?
