• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Now I know you're suffering.
Ease up Golan; there is no need to attack people's beliefs. This is a debate forum and what one's beliefs are, are not a matter of ridicule. Let us stick to the topic at hand please!

A global flood is basically an impossibility for one simple reason; there is not enough water to cover all the land masses.

Does that include the administration here at CF?

Now I know you're suffering.

AV1611VET is deliberately trying to put me into conflict with the administration to get them to ban me,
he will eventually succeed because he is a Christian and Christians here can never be seen to be wrong,
even when they are.

Golan; admittedly we are at a disadvantage, but in any debate forum all parties are bound to civility towards each other.

I am sorry but venting your frustration by attacking their religious beliefs is a no, no in any debate forum. I and am sure others here welcome your input into CF debates. We should stick to our science arguments if we are to be above those who are condescending towards us.

I have known many creationists here who's sole purpose is indeed to have atheists banned, but I can assure you AV is not one of them.

Yes, he has, to say the least, weird ideas but that is no reason to attack his beliefs.

I beg you to refrain from attacking one's religious beliefs as this is the surest way to have you banished from CF.

Take care!

All you have to do with AV is to demand that he support his views with science, and that without science he has nothing in a scientific debate. You can remind him nicely there are other parts of this forum where religious belief may be debated. Though the mods put a pretty heavy damper on that. In many of those debates they don't even allow atheists. They probably fear, and rightfully so, that atheists would win those debates.

Dear SZ, Is that why you run from debate with me? It's because I support my views with science, isn't it? Also, bring on the Atheists, since they agree with the Godless Evols here, and are so easy to defeat. I've never seen an Atheist who had ANY idea what the Scientific Truth of the Creation is. Do you?

In Love,
Aman

What on earth is an EVOL

Aman, you have failed miserably to show us one single shred of evidence for creationism. Is it so much to ask? Just give us one. Creationism is based on the supernatural and thus does not belong to the realms of the physical world and as a result not something science deals with. Now if you want to include the support of science into your claims then you have to abide by the rules governing science.

Please clarify and provide us with that one piece of evidence. Thank you.

How can we think we are smarter than something we don't believe exists

Technically it's possible -- like comparing oneself to a character in any other book.

Should I laugh or should I cry. This is such a falacy I don't even know where to start.

Laugh -- it's healthier for you in the long run.

It's not so much a Creationist tactic as it is an unfortunate side effect of certain religions -- the belief that one group of people is "chosen" leads to a certain contempt for the "unchosen" -- once they realize they can't take you under their wing.

The word Multiverse and the notion of such a thing did not exist in biblical times where the people who wrote the bible thought the earth to be flat.

Well, "flat" is a bit of a misunderstanding, there, but the Hebrew cosmology is pretty clear as to what they considered the universe to be -- and only the most whimsical of interpretations can reconcile that with the scientific concept of a multiverse.

I've repeatedly engaged Aman in discussions concerning the difference between his whimsy and God's word -- he usually responds by repeating the whimsy... often verbatim.

How does that answer my question?
What do you mean, how does that answer your question?

If I claimed Hurricane Katrina was worldwide, would finding a newspaper from the day before Katrina on someone's coffee table in Shanghai falsify her?
Let's be more specific.
Oh, of course -- let's do.

That tells me you did understand my answer.
What features would a geologic formation need in order for it to falsify a recent global flood?
A sedimentary formation in New Jersey, with Noah's Ark embedded in it?
