Partisans on the Left accept the official narrative of the Democrats and the corporate press, believing that January 6 amounted to an insurrection and a violent attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Partisans on the Right believe that however bad the events of that day were, the federal government’s reaction has been even worse, amounting to a weaponization of the Department of Justice to criminalize certain political views.

Still attempting to deny what we saw with our own eyes.

qUIT putting words in my mouth. It is a dirty tactic.

It don't matter what politicians say about jan 6th, because I don't get my info from them at all.

There are "liberal" judges and "conservative" judges who tried Jan 6th cases. They are not "providers of information" either. They oversee the cases in which evidentiary filings are made. How many evidentiary filings in Jan 6th cases have you read? I've read dozens perhaps hundreds.

As for media, I don't follow "media outlets", but on this case, specific reporters who cover it. I don't know what there political leanings were except that none seemed to be "hard-core MAGA". They reported it as an important news story. A couple were local DC TV news reporters (one later moved to CBS as more of a Congressional reporter), some reported for outlets focused on crime and law issues, others were with "national" outlets. I followed the trials and hearings for many defendants. And I watch hundreds of hours of Capitol violence footage starting with the live footage and not stopping for days.

I'm not going to bother with the outlets that have been lying to you and gaslighting you for 4 years, nor do I feel like doing specific debunks of claims I have refuted again and again on this very board.
I apologize for attempting to put words in your mouth. I should not have done that when I was responding to you and attempting to interpret your point of view.

Likewise, I don't like to be accused to appear to be believing what you said is gaslighting from media sources. Instead, it is a very rational thing for individuals like you and I to respect & understand that there are indeed two diametrically opposed, but also rational & reasonable points of view regarding all of the events, questions, and people involved in the topic of January 6th, 2021 in Washington DC.

That's how gaslighting and propaganda works. Typically you don't realize you are having your view warped.

The problem is how fact-free the opinions being presented in the OP linked article are.

Without any doubt at all, I know for a fact that I am NOT listening to gaslighting or propaganda when I read facts and analysis that are contrary to what you believe is true and/or not true about January 6th, 2021. The analysis presented in the OP article is indeed, without a doubt, backed up by facts.

The biggest problem with the OP are the facts it omits. Do you not see that yet?

Not everyone is perfect. The OP ain't perfect. However, why does it look like the facts that are presented in there appeared to be dismissed and/or ignored? It appears liberals completely endorse what the first January 6th Congressional committee says but then call any committee reports from another point of view to be "propaganda."

That's a cop out. We're 4 years on from this. Anybody speaking publicly on the subject and still framing it in ways that blame Pelosi while ignoring McConnell is, at best, a hack. There's no excuse for being that wrong.

However, why does it look like the facts that are presented in there appeared to be dismissed and/or ignored? It appears liberals completely endorse what the first January 6th Congressional committee says but then call any committee reports from another point of view to be "propaganda."

Why does it look like that? It looks like that from your perspective because you've swallowed the propaganda, make excuses for it when it's pointed out, and refuse to accept correction when anybody else has provided it.

In post #13, you wrote, "McConnell doesn't have any authority over the capitol police force." If you're still saying that now, while simultaneously blaming Pelosi, then you clearly don't understand the subject matter. If you're that invested in answering these questions, why don't you go read the reports that, IIRC, addressed most, if not all of them? Go do some homework.

I was watching multiple live feeds at the event that day. I saw what was going on outside, and what was going on inside, live. I didn't see every possible angle, but what I saw was not what I would call an insurrection. Far from it.
What then would you call it? A tea party?

If you read the OP article propaganda from Federalist/Hillsdale, then you are if you realize it or not.

They are using actual and real facts. It ain't propaganda. But it is a very rational point of view and analysis that diametrically differs from the rational point of view from the other side.
