For those of you currently married, engaged, hoping to be engaged, courting, playing the field, or withdrawn from relations with the opposite sex due to some negative views you hold on the subject due to a string of bad experiences:

I began to ramble, and actually I'm really asking those in successful relationships. What's successful? Well, you're together and you're happy, even if it just started yesterday.

I rambled again. So for those people, what was your first date?

I'd include mine but I am not in a relationship right now. But that's okay, as it affords me more time with my cat, Spot. We share a can of tuna on Friday nights and look at kitten videos together on YouTube, and in no way is that sad. Don't you dare begin to pity me. I see that on your face. Stop it! Seriously I'm quite happy!

well sadly, my first date with my husband and many others was to a bar or something. We met in a night club, so.

I had a lot of normal dates to, dinner, movies, festivals (in New Orleans you can't swing a dead cat with hitting a festival) but I know the majority of them were going out to bars and clubs.

I can tell you one memory I have. This one guy I dated and we went places, not to bars... he worked in a bar so I guess thats why he didn't want to go to one but we went to see some Paul Mccartney movie, I can't even remember the name of it, it was in the 80's of course and it was *THE* worse movie I had ever seen in my life.

We and everyone else that was there walked out. I do remember that.

I don't know if it was a "first" date for us, but my high school boyfriend and I went on a double date with a couple we were friends with. We went to a movie and saw The Mothman Prophecies.

Worst. Movie. Ever.

Plus, it was my fault because I picked it out and threw a fit about the movie they all wanted to see. No one else was in the theater, so the two of us ended up talking through the whole thing and our friends moved to the other end of the theater so they could keep watching.

Sounds lovely, I love the sound cats make when you give them tinned tuna. Yes, some cats find moving pictures fascinating! When our youngest was a kitten she loved internet films too. She kept trying to catch the cursor.^_^

I don't have much dating experience, either. I went on a few (three? four?) dates with a guy who's now a priest, we were in our first year of university. I don't know if it was the first date, but on one of those we went to see "Get Shorty", and I hated that film.
Years later I had my next date, with someone else. We had dinner at his place, and since he's not a good cook at all the food wasn't a success - but the date was. I married him a year later.

Our first date I believe was a movie and dinner deal, though I can't recall the movie title. It went well though, she did make a Jew joke (something harmless and related to the actors in the movie) and there was a awkward moment were I played along and made up some rants like Borat style and she nervously was like oh yeah, sure and then I told her I was one and she was like "...oh, I'm really sorry [insert awkward laugh], I was just being polite and agreeing," and turned beat red. I thought it was hilarious but. How we met was even funnier, we were at a get together of my mate and she said some compliment to me and for some reason I was in a silly mood and insulted her harshly and made all the girls there mad then 3 months later, I felt bad, called and apologized and then asked her out on a date then after 4 more I was like "so, you're my girlfriend, just thought you should know," and she laughed and said I was hoping I would be after our first date.

How can you name your cat spot ? That name is taken by Dick, Jane, Sally, Mother and Father's dog. You could have named him Puff.

I have a feeling your too young to get this. :D
