Being an omnipotent and omniscient deity must be pretty dull after a while. Not to mention lonely.
What better way to keep yourself amused than to create the universe? And what better way to find companionship than to create an entire species of intelligent beings?
Dear katallasso. I can only give my thoughts on this, God is the Great I AM, He always was, He ever is, and He will always be. He is a God of LOVE, and we know that Love begets Love. Love creates, Love perfects, Love shares, Love is unconquerable, and Love cannot be destroyed. God made us in His image, He gave us all we need, and he put us in command of Earth. We rebelled, we wanted more, and we succombed to a crafty and cruel Tempter, the opposite of all Love, Satan the usurper, and destroyer. God banned to Earth, He gave us His Commandments to help and change us. Instead of Repenting, we moved farther from God, and became easier targets for the SPOILER. Because God loves us, He He did not give up on us, His Son came among us, to show us the way back to God, back to our former home. He reconciled us to God-Father, who raised Him and gave Him Authority to lead us back, to plead our prayers, and who is our Teacher and Guide, to all God had given us in the beginnung, and we were not ready to deserve and appreciate. God`s purpose is to have us with Himself, to share our eternity, where Love ( Agape) rules, for all chosen sons and daughters with God, our Eternal Father. I say this humbly and with loving expectancy, katallasso, and send greetings. Emmy, sister in Christ.

I think what Emmy said was that God was lonely.
I don't think that is what she said. We don't always have children because we are lonly. I think God created us because He wants us around, but that is not saying He needed us.

Desire for relationships does not have to come from lonliness. God was thinking about how can I have beings with whom I can relate? So He created beings capable of loving and being lovable. No lonliness requried in this scenerioI don't know why you think this is different from being lonely.
God: the original sad emo kid. Creation happened one night when God was sitting by himself in his room, listening to bright eyes. "I guess I'll make a world, but it won't be any good and no one will like me. They'll probably just do the opposite of whatever I tell them. Sigh."

Recovering, you might want to look at the thread that has blown out of proportion in general apologetics, its the one about the cry for a proof of gods existence or something like that, you might want to check it out. Michael is making some statements that are very inconsiderate and out of context, and it seems hes the one calling me ignorant and naive.
Its going around my concept of his miss-use of the transcendence of the ego, and the ego all-together. He keeps trying to disprove my statements even though he is achieving nothing. His is yet to prove to me that he knows what he is talking about, and he is avoiding my statements, or atleast he does not understand them.I saw it; the guy's an idiot. I'm going to stay out of it because it's become a melee. It's hard to get someone to answer you in that sort of situation.
