So we should not talk about it is what you're saying? The discussion of if the creation account should be taken literal or if it can be understand in a non-literal context is worthwhile and understanding inconsistencies or aspects that are paradoxal may be hints on how to approach the passage.Job 42:3
You asked, 'Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorance?' It is I--and I was talking about things I knew nothing about, things far too wonderful for me.
We must remember that nothing created existed with God. Proof of this is found in Genesis 1:31 where God looked at everything that He had made a saw that it was good; and, on the seventh day it said God rested from all His work which He had made (2:1-3). That being said two questions arise:Gen 1:3-5
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.
So what was the light?
Just because something is not directly said all the time does not mean that it is never spoken on. For example the first ten words of Genesis 1:1:Agree.. it doesn't say. I wonder what Christ has to say about this
Genesis takes pain to show Gods hand was in every aspect of creation; God created. Thats the importance, God created, not the timeline which produces endless debates that profit no one. I don't know how old the world or the universe are but I do believe life on earth is young and God created such life and formed the environment in which such life can safely exist.Gen 1:3-5

He touched on Genesis for a legal ruling about the lawfulness of divorce.Agree.. it doesn't say. I wonder what Christ has to say about this
Jesus is a living being and not just a word. According to Jesus's own teaching it was the Father living in Him teaching Him what to state and how to state things and Jesus spoke all that the Father command him to speak. And Jesus knew the Fathers command lead to eternal life.I agreed with your post. Good going! You probably seen this too but I wanted to add. The trinity is in there a bit farther down
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
In the beginning= Jesus (Word)
God = Father
Spirit of God = Holy Spirit
You're going off topic now. The man posed a valid question, which needs to be taken seriously. Not everything in the Word of God is given to us easily: many times it requires tough work and many Odin's to acquire the information straight from the Bible.Genesis takes pain to show Gods hand was in every aspect of creation; God created. In the beginning you had water not ice. Space is very cold -454.81 Fahrenheit so how can you have water without a heat source such as our Sun?

But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water.
Nobody knows. Its all guesswork!
Or a endless debate. Nobody is old enough to know as a witness. Not man anyway.

The point of The Creation Week is God demonstrating to us that He is able to create things out of nothing, and to expose our own ignorance of the origins of the world.
God being the Creator and the Light should be proof enough that He made all things. It is important to understand that while light gives us the for of an image: it dies not define whether the image's characteristics (e.g. wet, dry, hot, cold, small, large, etc.): It is the Word which gives the image definition: and it is our senses which inform us that we are interacting with something; while the mind interprets what comes through the senses.
You two should really meditate on the words of Moses and king Solomon:
"The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law."
-Deuteronomy 29:29
"It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter."
-Proverbs 25:2
Everything written in the Bible contains what we need to know, it just effort at times to find certain answers to our questions: and God did this for our benefit that we might receive honour and glorify Him.

The OP is not discussing the timeline of the world though: he is asking an honest an valid question about scripture. It's not fair to want to immediately dismiss a person's inquiries because of our own fears or insecurities about certain topics on the Word of God. Our words are not the end of the matter but, it is God's words which end the matter if debate:The importance is God created all things and all things were created by His command and by His will and what God created He created through Jesus.
The importance is not found in a highly debatable timeline of creation

No, but when God deemed that the Light should come into the world, he came and it was good.was the Word created?

so when God says "Let there be light" he is instructing the Word to come into the world? No, but when God deemed that the Light should come into the world, he came and it was good.
