Besides the sheer beauty of her from afar, when we met face to face I was lost in her beautiful brown eyes.. I will never forget the moment I looked into them for the first time. I knew she would be my wife, I was blessed with my "Brown Eyed Girl"...

So what was the first thing you noticed about your spouse?

I'm not sure. We "met" on a dating site, so the first thing we knew of each other was what was on our profiles lol. I know I was struck with everything I read about him. He was intelligent and well-spoken. His faith and beliefs about love and marriage matched mine. His interests and hobbies were uncannily like mine (which blew me away, cause I'm very quirky). I honestly didn't think he was real, he seemed too good to be true :)

If we're asking what we first noticed about them physically... nothing, really. I thought he was cute and handsome, but no one feature grabbed my attention.

His class clown sense of humor. And he had a way of looking at you like he really saw you. But maybe that's because he was so enamored of me. ;) Yeah, it was pretty much connection-so-strong-you-knew-it-was-going-to-be-something-special at first sight for both of us.

I met my husband when we were very young. I think it was before high school. I noticed right away that he was very polite. By that I mean he had good manners and was friendly. That's not common in middle-school boys!

We were good friends all through high school, but did not date until afterward. We didn't marry until after college because of all the "statistics" and advice, but in retrospect I think it would have been fine.

I "met" mine on a discussion forum. The first thing I noticed was his very respectful posting and communication style and willingness to take responsibility for his own behaviour, thoughts, and feelings, and it was sustained over a whole year before we ever started private messaging. Second was his very attractive profile pic.

The first thing I noticed about my spouse was that his online profile was very genuine and heart-felt and his morals matched mine. I remember thinking "this is the real deal!" The second thing (which is the "hook" that captured my heart) was that he prayed during our first phone conversation for our potential relationship (that we would seek God's will, not our own) and he also prayed for my mom (who was having health problems). I knew right then and there that he was a genuine godly man that I could trust!

Obviously, my wife is a stone cold fox...but other than that the thing that struck me dead in my tracks was her honesty. She was interested in me, not pretending to be interested in me.

Example, when we met I had mentioned that I had seen a movie recently that I liked...and then next day when I pulled a short notice visit to her at her place of work, she was halfway through it. Not because I asked her to or said she should...she just wanted to see something I liked.

His Height. I am 5ft tall and he is 6'5". The second thing I noticed was his big, beautiful smile!

Wow....I thought we had an interesting height issue - I'm 5'4" and he is 6'4". Your height gap is even bigger than ours!

LilLamb, that is so cool about his eyes! IDay has beautiful green/brown eyes and he has this one green shirt that brings out the green in his eyes...it wows me every time!

I was teaching at a Christian school in Indonesia and she came to work as a teacher's aid. But she didn't return after a day or two because it did not fit into her Bible college schedule in town. So I only saw her one day. At first, I was in a crowded class room of four-year-olds and she sat in the back, so I was too busy to notice her much. Then I forgot something in the room and had to go back and get it to use in the next class. The teacher introduced me to her when I came into the room.

Later, I was in the office working on my lessons. There were a lot of tables set up end to end from nearly one end of the room to another and I looked over and saw her at the far end. I thought, "I wonder if the Lord will give me such a beautiful woman to be my wife." I remember she had a sticker from her church on her briefcase.

When she met me, she thought I wasn't all that good-looking for a white man. She told me she told herself that because she was seeing someone. Okay, whatever... :)

A year or a year and a half later, I was living in the city working elsewhere. A missionary lived on her Bible college campus and had invited me to dinner. He said when winter break was over, I ought to come over and have a look at all the Christian English books in the library.

I saw my wife come in with her friend. She was really good-looking. She said, "Hello sir." She told me later she wasn't trying to flirt. She was just in a good mood. Her friend told her I was cute. She looked over at me. I was looking back at her as she went up the stairs to the library.

I'd gotten to know Philemon a bit there. He was a student, playing the guitar. A little while later, the woman who would be my wife came down the stairs. She believed the Lord wanted her to talk to me, but she told the Lord she was a shy Asian girl. She was uncomfortable introducing herself to a man. So she sat down beside her classmate and asked if he knew how to play a certain song. I struck up a conversation with her. She had a word of knowledge for me that confirmed some things I knew about myself. We talked about her cell group and various other things. I gave her my number and forgot to ask hers.
