The first album I ever bought myself was on iTunes. It was either The Collection by Sonata Arctica or the Black Hawk Down soundtrack.

Before that, I used Limewire to obtain my music. Before that, I used my parent's CD collection to listen to certain songs on a CD player.

The Blackhawk Down soundtrack is amazing.

For me it was The Crow soundtrack.
I've never owned a CD player. I have several CD's my church gave me, though. I can play them on my computer.

On the 6.

My uncle's girlfriend bought me the CD for my birthday. I remember being SO excited! And then my parents saw it, and took it away considering I was around ...10 years old? Haha But yeah, when I did finally get it back I listened all day. every day. constantly.

White Heart - Highlands

Somehow Heaven of my Heart became a radio hit here, and they even came out and played a show. Some time after that I happened to spot the CD on sale. I wasn't actually looking for CDs as at the time I didn't have a CD player of my own (I had to use my parents' and record it onto tape), but it caught my eye and that was the start of a collection that's now well over 1,000.

For me it was The Crow soundtrack.

First CD I bought with my own money was a recording of Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt suites. (the one with hall of the mountain king, morning mood, aase's death, etc).

I was more into tapes when I started buying music though. Started off by being given some tapes by a classmate: Korn (Life is Peachy), Limp Bizkit (Insignificant Other... the one with 'Nookie' on it), and Everclear (can't remember the album name but it had their hit song about "I am still living with your ghost" on it.) First tape I bought on my own was either Korn - Issues or Rage Against The Machine - Battle of LA. The RATM tape got a lot of play, was learning how to play drums at the time and I practiced along. Good times.

Sound track for The Lion King. I didn't see the movie for about a year later, but I had all the songs memorized. LOL

Be prepaaaaarred... for a remake coming out next year.

Can't believe it's been 25 years already. That just doesn't seem right.

The first one I ever received? I'm pretty sure it was either Flashback: The Best of The J. Geils Band or some Alan Jackson CD (my parents were really into country at the time; I think there may have been one song on it that prompted them to get it for me or something). Considering I still have the J. Geils Band disc, I just consider that one the first.

First one I actually went and bought myself? Ultimate New Wave Party 1998, a couple of days after the ones in the previous paragraph.
