They didn't have Lunchables when I was a kid :sorry: I'm of the old-school lunch days, lol.

I honestly don't remember what I had. I remember my lunchbox - Strawberry Shortcake :) And I remember the big plastic thermoses we had. I know I had Little Debbie snacks when I got into like, 2nd grade and up. But otherwise...I probably had sandwiches like most kids, but I don't remember!

Agh, I LOVED fruit roll-ups! Anything fake and "fruity." Now, I can't even look at those things anymore, srsly.

But honestly, I loved sandwiches (which I still love), but I was more of a fan of the hot lunches. It was always my favorite day(s) of the week.

And darn it, I read the OP wrong. I thought this thread was about lunchboxes.. I was totally going to put: SHE-RA!!!!!! :D

I was really hard to feed because I was so fussy. Many things I would not eat.

I loved Ritz bits with cheese infinitely, and also loved the various juices out (Mondo, Kool-aid Burst, etc) Fruit roll up, fruit by the foot, gushers, and dunkaroos often found their way in. The first three, for those unfamiliar with the brands, were fruit snacks, and dunkaroos were cookies to dunk in frosting. I didn't eat school lunches until third grade. I liked salami. I also loved snack cakes and such. I was really bad for a long time about fruits and vegetables, but now I LOVE them. :D So glad I grew out of that.

Also, I had many lunchboxes. Winnie the Pooh, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid were some that I remember. I was so spoiled...I still am. :sorry:

;)

I can't remember what lunchbox I had. If I had to guess, it was probably Alladin. I do remember though my mom always just made me ham or turkey sandwiches with a random fruit or veggy. Usually grapes. And if I was a good boy, maybe once a week or so she'd either put in a cupcake or a snack pack.

My mom owned a health food store...

Peanut butter and jelly. The peanut butter was made from nothing but peanuts. We had a grinder in the store. The jelly had no sugar or preservatives. It wasn't spreadable, you more had to dice it into small pieces and try to distribute those evenly along the bread. And the bread was some whole grain thing that was heavy enough to sink in a bit of water.

Vegetable of some sort. Raw carrots, celery, green peppers, broccoli hearts, or a mixture of the above.

Fruit for dessert. Apple or orange. Occasionally a kiwi or a tub of melon.

The only time I ever carried lunch when I was little in elementary school was for field days. Then I would get to take a bologna sandwhich, chips, a candybar, and maybe jello. I would be almost as excited about the lunch as I was my field trip lol. I would usually buy the hot lunches that the school sold in the cafeteria on regular days which really were pretty decent-except for the fish sticks. I remember envying my best friend like every day of 3rd grade bc she always had a brownie and a bag of cheetos with every lunch! I thought her mom was the coolest. Haha.
