What video games are you currently playing?

Was finally able to get my hands on a Nintendo Switch 2.

I like is so far, pretty much an upgraded Switch 1. The screen in the device is much nicer, the joy cons feel less cheap and the magnets that attach to the console works really well.

The Nintendo Online app and Online store is much more responsive.

It's about as powerful as somewhere between a PS4 and PS4 Pro. So sadly I don't expect a lot of native 4K games. Mario Kart World is about 1440P resolution.

The joy cons can be used as a mouse which works a lot better than I thought it would. Will probably buy a proper mouse pad for that later.

I know some people are waiting for the future possible OLED model but personally I use the Switch 99% of the time on the TV. I do know the screen on the device lags somewhat. Even more than the original Switch.

While I like the Switch 2, I do kind of wish Nintendo would just do a proper console. Especially as someone who isn't really interested in handheld gaming. I'd like to see Nintendo games on par graphics wise with current gen systems.

It hasn't been released yet, but I can't wait to play this new game called Take Us North. Sounds really exciting. Just as GTA taught everyone how to kill prostitutes, I assume this game will teach us how to commit illegal immigration. I guess if you play it well, you get awards like free healthcare, free smartphones, maybe even the ability to vote in other people's elections. I'm already developing a sequel called We're Taking You Back South.

yeah, you kill waaaay more cops in GTA than you do prostitutes.

Saints Row 3 (the better, funnier alternative to GTA) had a couple of prostitutes as bosses. One of them became Fed chairman in SR4.

P.S. I forgot to mention something. If you click that link I provided, the top of the page shows a truck driving on a highway. The game is called Take Us North, and they are heading directly towards either a rising or a setting sun. Who said the Left are science deniers?

This has got me thinking.

I have heard a lot of people saying "illegal". I want to know what the law in the UK says. What is and isn't illegal.

Seems to me that if something illegal is happening, then police policy needs to be in line with public sentiment.

If the claim that something "illegal" is taking place, the claim should be investigated. The word "illegal" could be true, or false. If false it could be a simple error, or more sinister - a bit of persuasion language designed to make you angry.

Anyway - ref the channel crossings / asylum hotels / immigration issue - I'm not involved with an opinion either way. But if I were to start with forming an opinion, ... ... ...
1) Am I loving other people. How would I feel if the shoe were on the other foot.
2) I'd like to know what the law actually says.

1) Am i ready to put my money where my mouth is. If the UK gets invaded and i have to take my wife and baby and run - will i accept the same treatment i dish out to others. If you let people stay, am i ready to risk those people being here.

if you ever get the chance, read the introduction of "Bede, an ecclesiastical history of the english people"
if i remember correctly - its a great intro. It goes a bit funny after that (if i remember ??!!??!) ... but the intro is cool

it says the romans left, the land got raided by the irish and the picts, the romans returned, romans left, land invaded again. britons asked the angles, saxons and jutes to come be mercenaries. they agree and then turn on the britons and take it all for themselves. ... ... anyway - great read.

as for immigration - there are big things in the world and country i am seriously concerned about.

economy, russia, china, money has moved up the chain into the hands of a few, leaving us regular joes on the ground dirt poor. so i guess fair taxation is another one.
