In contrast to making a video game out of a movie, which video game do you think would make a real good movie?

I would think Half-Life and Zelda would make great movies.

**This is of course, excluding the Final Fantasy movie**

God bless!

None, the whole point of making a game is interactivity. To make a movie would be to go backwards.
I agree that interactivity makes the games what they are. just as I prefer reading a book. but that doesnt stop me from going to see a movie based on books or games.

as for what game I would like to see made into a game? as a huge fan of the epic films like the Star Wars trilogy, and LorR's trilogy. I would have to pick
the Ultima series,
the Shining Froce series,
Dragon Warrior series or
Golden Sun series.

I think any of these would make a great epic series of films. and I would be first in line to view them.

AvP is an example of a game made into a movie. That concept was brought about from the second predator movie where they show a skull from one of Ripley's Aliens in the predator ships "Trophy Rack". They turned that little snippet into a fantastic game (and a comic I think). Now it's a movie. I haven't seen it yet but it is getting decent reviews.

As far as games from movies, I really have never liked them. They are too limiting and tend to follow the movie line irregardles of the gameplay.

actually the comic came before the game (the comic came out not long after the movies. and the game wasnt really that great IMHO, but both predator and Alien were movies first. so it isnt really fair to say the recent movie is a product of the videogame, besides they were talking about a AvP movie way back then. it just takes along time to convince those who hold the money to put it into such endevors. hehe. It is true most movies dont even stay close to the game they supposedly represent. although Mortal Kombat even though it wasnt that great a movie. it did a fairly decent job of staying true to the idea of the game(at least as true as a movie can. LOL)

In the crossover spirit of Aliens vs. Predator-- are you ready for Q*Bert vs. Bomberman? ;)

Seriously now... Keeping the lesson of the Dungeons & Dragons travesty (er, movie) in mind, with good scriptwriting and acting I can think of a couple games that could make interesting and/or entertaining movies.

King of Dragon Pass (this has potential to be a pretty strange movie; Ducks, heroquests, giant floating baby cradles-- oh my!)
Prince of Persia

If any more really good ones come to mind I'll add them...
