What version do you use?

Hey,

I'm wondering what version the people in here use as their Bible. I'm not trying to weed those with versions I don't have, but I'm really curious about the types of versions that I might see in here versus other threads like this in other forums.

I myself use ESV, which is really similar to NASB. I like both of those a lot, and I'm pretty new to ESV but so far it is working out quite well.

My suspicions so far played out... ESV seems fairly abundant, though admittedly this sampling is very small. NASB of course also is predominant.

Since I'm no Bible scholar, I have to trust the word of others. And Reformist-minded thinkers, i.e. RC Sproul, J.I. Packer, John Piper, etc. all recommend the ESV which gives it credibility to my unscholarly (by Bible standards) mind. And a group here uses it too, at least somewhat, that's pretty cool.

The only problem that I've found with the ESV so far is that it incorrectly translates Rev. 16:9.

NASB here.

I have a NKJV, which I hardly ever use anymore, and I'm wanting to get an ESV. I almost got the ESV when I went to pick out my new bible, but ended up getting the NASB. I heard they were very very similar so I ended up picking up the NASB because of the size of the bible and the fact that they only had the ESV in paperback or hardback and not leather bound.
