  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What verse?

Since Moses went back up to atone [mediate a reconcilation]for Israel, I would think that the second set would be the ones to mention the redeeming qualities of the God they worship. But it could also be argued that since they were rescued from Egypt, God declared in the first set that He is their redeemer. It would make more sense that the order is Creator first, Redeemer second.
Thank You for posting your question that really got me thinking of His mighty strength.

15 And remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.

Another reference to the coming Messiah Yeshua as Redeemer that I hadn’t noticed before. To me “an outstretched arm” also reminds me of Yeshua’s redemptive atonement for mankind. You opened my eyes to both the literal as well as the deeper allegorical significance of this Sabbath verse. Thanks again!

I would have accepted your answer as legit before I gave any hints, but since I gave the creator/redeemer hint, it disqualified your answer...

Ok, but I didn't even realize you were back on topic but my answer was still the same. N{P:)

In the midst of fire..

Well the only thing that comes to mind is from Ezekiel speaking of the 'King of Tyre.

Oh, you wanted a specific verse placement.

Ezk 28:14 and 16

"You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones.

"By the abundance of your trading You became filled with violence within, And you sinned; Therefore I cast you as a profane thing Out of the mountain of God; And I destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the fiery stones."

That's why I asked who can or who did.

This was past tense even as it was written, probably before even Adam was created.

Where can it be found where the L-RD leads one to be in the dark and to walk on crooked and dark paths?
Verse 16 is referring to the eventual restoration of Israel. Perhaps, you had another verse in mind?

Isaiah 42:16 (21,22-25) (KJV)
16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.

21 The Lord is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.

22 But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.
23 Who among you will give ear to this? who will hearken and hear for the time to come?
24 Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the Lord, he against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they obedient unto his law.
25 Therefore he hath poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.

More than twenty-one centuries ago, the Holy Land was ruled by the Syrian-Greeks, who sought to forcefully Hellenize the people of Israel. Against all odds, a band of faithful Judeans defeated one of the mightiest armies on earth driving the Greeks from the land. Having reclaimed the Holy Temple in Yerusalem they rededicated it to the service of Elohim.

Why dwell on darkness and crooked paths so soon after Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights as Israel is being restored to its former glory? I prefer the positive outlook of Isaiah 42:16

Please reconsider :wave::clap::wave: Please :)

Not dwelling on it, but it is the L-RD who did it (which should be hint in itself).

You have to know what the darkness and wrong path is to more appreciate and recognize the light and the right path.

Think about when Israel was at her lowest time, think about a prophet that isn't Isaiah. Think about Exile..................

No other OT Book contains so many loud cries of lament as Lamentations.

3:2 אותי נהג וילך חשך ולא-אור
He has led me and made me walk
In darkness and not in light.

3:9 גדר דרכי בגזית נתיבתי עוה
He has blocked my ways with hewn stone;
He has made my paths crooked.

What are the 3 scripture verses that record the favorable prophetic words given to Josiah by a Prophetess.
This came from an unnamed prophet
1 King 13:1-2 "And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the LORD unto Bethel: and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense. And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men’s bones shall be burnt upon thee"
The prophecy’s fulfillment is recorded in
2 Kings 23:15,16: "Moreover the altar that was at Bethel, and the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, both that altar and the high place he brake down, and burned the high place, and stamped it small to powder, and burned the grove. And as Josiah turned himself, he spied the sepulchres that were there in the mount, and sent, and took the bones out of the sepulchres, and burned them upon the altar, and polluted it, according to the word of the LORD which the man of God proclaimed, who proclaimed these words."

Lamentation teaches a design. There are Psalms that do the same thing, but Lamentation really is extraordinary.

She is one of seven women prophetesses “whose words the Talmud tells us are recorded for all generations.” Her prophecies contain a feminine tone of nurturing, sensitivity and compassion. This may be why she becomes Yoshiayhu's choice.

The more compassionate tone of a woman prophet may be what Yoshiayhu needed at this dark hour, with the fate of the Jewish Nation at stake. This prophecy by חֻלְדָּה came true as Yoshiayhu lived another 19 years, and did not have to witness the destruction of Jerusalem.

Where are the 3 scripture verses found in the OT that record the 'favorable' prophetic words given to King Yoshiayhu by this Prophetess?

You meaning the acrostics, right? My answer came from the 3rd chapter where there isn't one. ;)

This came from an unnamed prophet - (1 King 13:1-2)
The prophecy’s fulfillment is recorded in - (2 Kings 23:15,16)

HINT-
Reference to this woman prophet is found in 2 Kings 22:14.
The three consecutive verses that pertain to her specific prophecy concerning Josiah are recorded in another OT book (not in 1 or 2 Kings).
