What to do about Saddam Hussein

Just curious, for all those in the know, if Sadam had complied to the fullest with the original post Gulf war inspections, how long would the inspectors have been in Iraq inspecting? What was the arrangement? Was there to be periodical followup checkouts? How long was the disarmament to last, his lifetime? If that is the case who's next in line his son? I heard he's worst than Pops?

I would imagine that the deal was for a intial inspect to make sure he disarmed and then follow up checks to make sure he maintains no WMD and now that he is complying and essentially in check, how is this any different? Does anyone know?
