i wasnt sure where to post this its a song, and i think we has chrsitians need to live up to what this song says.

Artist: Wynonna Judd
Song: What The World Needs Now

Lyrics:

I look around at all the faces and I see, all the lonely people
looking
back at me.
Rich, poor, don’t matter we’re all the same,
everybody’s hungry in
A different way.
We’re clawing and climbing and kicking and screaming and fighting
But really,

CHORUS:

What the world needs now is love. Love and only love. A little help
from up above.
Fit to make a better day. Let’s come together lay our differences
down. Spread it all around,
That’s what the world needs now.

Sometimes all it takes is just a smile to change somebody’s weather
chase the clouds out of their sky.
Sometimes you got to give and not receive,
Sometimes you got to live what you believe,
Open your arms cause that’s where it starts
Right here with you and with me,

CHORUS:

What the world needs now is love. Love and only
love. A little help
from up above.
Fit to make a better day. Let’s come together lay our differences
down. Spread it all around,
That’s what the world needs now.

Nobody likes the cold, we all need someone to hold,
No one wants to be alone.

Hi shawon 101, although I'm not familair with the song by Wynonna Judd, your post reminded me of a song by Dionne Warwick. I'm not sure who the original writer is, but I agree with you that.....

What the world needs now, is love, sweet love
it's the only thing thats there just to little of

no not just for some, but for everyone

Lord we don't need another mountain
there are mountains and hillsides enough to climb.

There are oceans and rivers enough to cross
enough to last, till the end of time

What the world needs now, is love sweet love.

oh LOL. I don't like that song! Yeah, I bet you never heard that before about this song! lol People need to obey the Lord and find joy, and quit trying to get others "oil". Let them go buy it for themselves. I am not a slave to give unlimited compassion to others when they have to do things for themselves.

It's a liberal's paradise song, and the children's singing touch is too much.

I like soft songs, mostly romantic classical and country gospel.

I didn't finish. lol.

Yes, I like soft music only, but that song reminds me of how we should all just relax our standards and let the homosexuals have legal marriages and give our money all away to the bad preachers and telemarketing scams and all that's liberal loveydovey manipulation. Let's sink into a deep newage trance and become one with everything where God's standards don't matter. Only that we must not ever offend anyone is all that matters.

Um Excuse me....

The world has Love.

Christ died for the world. Yes, EVERYONE.

And, the world needs to accept the Love now.

Happy New Year Sunbeam.

I think I understand your viewpoint of the songs message. I know that the song was made popular by the secular world and is not generally classified as a "christian" song.

True, the world has Gods love. But to me, the song is refering to the "brotherly" love that people lack for one another. Because brotherly love is lacking, not only in the world, but also in the church there is a message in the song for everyone.

Many who profess to love Christ neglect to love those who are united together with them in Christian fellowship. We are of the same faith, members of one family, all children of the same heavenly father, with the same blessed hope of immortality. How close and tender should be the tie that binds us together. The people of the world are watching us to see if our faith is exerting a sanctifying influence upon our hearts. They are quick to discern every defect in our lives, every inconsistancy in our actions. Lets give them no occasion to reproach our faith.

The apostle Paul realized that "brotherly" love was lacking in the church. His letters to the church are full of that thought and urged upon believers the constant need of this love. " Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God".

Christ said " A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another, as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. (John 13:34)

My orignal posts showed very clear that I am aware that the song is about telling others to be more loving, and that I believe it is so simplistic, both in words and a childlike tune, that it has or is becoming a newage catch song of liberalism to relax our standards.

The "people of the world" you've mentioned are overly judgmental and need Christ's love. I'm not and nor is any christian perfect and we're not the Lord and savior for people to look at us that close. For after we do our best, the people of the world are now jealous, and flatter us expecting friendship to come so easily.

The world doesn't need my love. The world needs to repent and find God's love

Which is here now, that the world has.

"What the world needs now, is Christ, sweet Christ.
It's the only person that gave his life for sacrifice

no, not just for some, but for ev-ery-one

Lord, we don't need another mountain,
there are mountains and hillsides enough to climb

But you gave your Son to die for us on a cross
enough to the end of time

What the world has now, is Christ, sweet Christ"

I always thought the song was reflective and cute, until the commercials which are designed to manipulate us, played that tune until I associated it with manipulation and then seeing it as a song for future uses of liberalism. The family values and "our children" are always used by both political parties to get their desired response. It may seem like I am reading too much into it. But I've heard it played to death and my mind must of put up a reasonable barrier as well as warped a little also so forgive me.

I just often wonder what kinds of buzz words, phrases, songs will we used to market certain things of a global consequential nature.

I realize that we are engaged in warfare agains an enemy who seeks to destroy us (Gods church).
But it's important to keep our views in proper perspective. While on one hand there is a danger of falling into careless liberalism, there is also danger in falling into a narrow philosophy and a hard cold orthodoxy.

It greives the spirit of God when conservatism shuts man away from his fellow man, especially when it is found among those who profess to be His children.

You're changing the major direction of the conservation and introducing new subjects that are assumptions of me in a negative light.

I believe firmly in giving, and living at a modest means.

Is making assumptions about your fellow christians being loving? Have I done that to you at all?

No it isn't.
No you haven't.
I apologize for giving the impression that I have made assumptions about you specifically.

where i heard the song was on 7th Heaven, the episode was about how we can all use our talents to help out others. The reverend gave a sermon on how the world is coming to terrorism etc stuff liek that and how it needs to be reached by us.

Hey that's ok. It's easy to misinterpet what someone is trying to say when all we have to base our impression on is text.
How often serious quarrels arise from simple misunderstandings. I'm glad and thankful that is not the case here.

This is true. I don't like to argue either. The quarrels on the net are so tiring to watch. Let's just all accept one anothers differing opinions, and give unconditional love.
