What Surprised You?

This thread is meant to be different than the "jump" scene thread. There I was looking for things that made you jump out of your seat in shock.


So, inspired by Redguard's picture of Locke with the orange in his mouth, what has surprised you? Either things you saw or things people said or did.



I'll never forget that scene of Locke - it was really odd, weird, and surprising. :o

Then I found it funny.

I was shocked when I started to notice how the Losties kept showing up in each other's backstories. The first time I noticed was in Jin's story when he went to rough up the guy in his apartment and the little girl was watching TV - of a news story of Hurley winning the lottery!

That was a big "what if" moment

I have a "what if" moment...when we see Jack's Dad yelling at the woman wanting to see his daughter. I'm still thinking the woman's mother was Claire. So I have a what if Jack & Claire are half-siblings.

Another surprise moment was when we finally see Desmond's face and Jack and him look at each other and Jack goes "You?" because he was the guy from the stadium. AWESOME!

Another surprise moment but not a happy one...just when you think Sawyer was going to be nice - squish - he killed the tree frog.

When Jin came home with bloodied hands and we find out the Sun is trying to run away from him, I could see why.

Then when we see that scene again from a different perspective, we find out that Jin saved the man's life by beating him up...and now he doesn't know how to get out of this life of violence.

That surprise me, that he wasn't just a cruel man. Being on the island is really turning out to be a great thing (for the time being) for Sun and Jin.

When Jin came home with bloodied hands and we find out the Sun is trying to run away from him, I could see why.

Then when we see that scene again from a different perspective, we find out that Jin saved the man's life by beating him up...and now he doesn't know how to get out of this life of violence.

In the early season one lists of characters, Jin was listed as a `Korean hit man' (assassin); then after his POV episode, this was changed to `Korean `hit' man' (brawler).
