What steps should be taken AFTER being baptised?

For me there are a lot of things I will have to give up.

1. Foul music.
2. Certain dating sites. (Tinder)..................
3. Lust (but acknowledging beauty is not a sin unless someone tells me otherwise!)
4. Certain videos.
5. Not to react in anger (remain calm at all times calm tone of voice).
6. Not to use foul language.
7. (Other things I am sure somebody will add)

In terms of SIN I have realised something that if I play the victim in sin I will always fall face first! Bottom line is I HAVE THE REMOTE CONTROL ON SIN! I think people give Satan more power than he actually has.

Now in terms of the good things.

1. Be in the word as much as possible.
2. Church (bog standard)
3. Helping others
4. Tell others about the dangers of not accepting Christ.

Is anybody able to add to this?

This is all well and good but the Holy Spirit will lead you as to what He wants and doesn't want for you. Many of those things listed above happened to me because my will for them changed, not because I made a to do list.

Actually, it is the Holy Spirit within you that regenerates the old man into the new. A remote control is not controlled by you so better hand it over to the Father so He can change your channels.

This is not something we do, but what God does in our heart and replacing our heart of stone into flesh (meaning a soft heart).
When I fully surrendered my life to Jesus Christ, I became a new creature because of Him and not of myself - else there would be no need for grace.
Overtime, the things I used to enjoy no longer became the things I enjoyed. My music taste even changed and my eyes had been opened. This is the miraculous work of God.

The above is a good list for starters.

Read and study the bible.
Join a good solid church.
Take communion often.
Repent and mean it.
Pray and talk to God daily.
Many, many times throughout the day.

Hind sight is 20/20.. being asked if I wanted the holy Spirit. In Luke 11 13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" I believed when Jesus said John 3 16 so I did the same here. And when ever I ask.. He hears. As it is written. Its just something that.. I can not think of what life would be like if I never had asked and just believed.

As for giving up. He never asked for something I didn't want to give up. Then knowing Him then falling in love.. my friend can talk to me about things I do that hurt me that effects US. Like MUSIC! Use to LOVE ACID ROCK! I lol can't tell you why.. but one day it just.. I didn't want to listen any more. That has never changed.. I Like to listen to thing that give my Father glory. He wanted my heart to be in it.. not to do it because you have to. He wants my heart. Everything is a free choice. That is ALWAYS for my best that brings glory to Him

I quote this because I found when I try to combat a sin or temptation it becomes harder. It might be becauseeyes are taken off Him and directed at avoiding sin. However, when walking in the Spirit, with our eyes on Him, the fruit of the Spirit (see sig) results in our lives.

I will add this caveat to your statement. Anyone truly reborn of the Spirit who is walking in the Light has lived this.

I believe there are currently many of the elect who have had their walk with God stunted by either poor teaching or lack of keeping the soil of their hearts "weed-free".

In these last days, God is about to awaken all His own to the truth that will make them overcomers of the world, the flesh and the devil. But in between now and then, a whole lot of shaking has to go on.

I would personally say give up t.v.and secular media in geneeal. They are overflowing with anti Biblical messages.

I don't watch TV much now - ever since my *sinful relationship* break up I just browse online. Just my DVDs I have. So TV is something I don't mess with much now.

Really, mostly, it seesm you already know a lot of dos and don'ts. Your conscience is active.

A Pastor that I speak to says that is my Holy Spirit talking (which we all have).

"it profits nothing"if we do not have love. No doubt you have some love already. But have you ever seen anyone perfected in love?

I would say nobody is PERFECTED in love - but we are all on the journey - some better than others of course - all we can do is go in Lord's name. That grace and mercy! So in our flesh form we are flawed - but I am grateful for Jesus as he is our insurance man! Serious business!

I would add praying each morning to grow in love, also in faith and trust and wisdom.

Yes wisdom supremely important! Prayer of course - and yes FAITH - I think I have been getting better at that cos times I have taken LOSES and when I would want to get annoyed I just say *Lord I have faith in you* as hard as it is! As hard as it can be to forget the painful past! I just say! Lord I have faith!

Proverbs tells us to be discrete in evil times. These are evil times!

VERY TRUE! About having discretion! I certainly would not be saying it at work (unless there is somebody that asks or in questioning things) but indeed these are evil times (tbh we have been in evil times since the time of Noah in all honesty.

Of course but when I write things out makes things clear and to see why wrongs (that I know at heart is not Holy) people might say Tinder is not a sin - well - it can lead - but depending on the person using it - cos I could have a firearm in my house doesn't mean I will ever use it - depending on the person - but yeah.

The only thing with a to do list is that I would say get rid of them now. The old man is dead at the point of when you were born again. To me that happens before water baptism. Baptism is a follow up to that. You are already regenerated so 'get up and walk'.

However, that is just my take, it is only my understanding. Proverbs 3:5-6 You know your walk with God much better and God will be speaking to your heart. You can do all things in Christ who strengthens you and He'll empower you to do all these, rest in Him. It's not really giving anything up, you will gain so much more in Him. I think you'll feel much freedom without the things mentioned in the list, if you don't mentally get stuck in trying to avoid them

His yoke is light. I have found when taking a step in faith He carries most of the load as we trust in Him

Ah yes, the carnal Christian ! When we get like that we have to be reeled in and He leaves the 99 of the flock to find the 1. The season is nearing it's end, the summer grazing fields are changing and the sheep restless to gather with the Shepherd and go home.....

Don't kill yourself trying to clean up your act. We all start as baby Christians on milk and work our way to meat as we mature.

A man once said that as you grow you will find that old habits and such that you once enjoyed will fade away and become less and less desireable as your heart grows and you walk closer with your savior.

When you are baptizes the spirit of God enters into you converting you sir.

Then your heart does not want any of the numbered list you wrote.

When one believes in Jesus as Lord and saviour His Spirit enters into him. This is called being "born again". His Spirit in us begins a process called regeneration. Regeneration is a transforming of a Christian to becoming more Christ-like.

Water baptism is washing away one's sins of the past and displays publicly one's pledge to follow Christ. Water baptism is for believers.

I notice that you've listed "church" but it's not clear to me whether by that you just mean attending services.

Church is a community, not just an event; so I'd say find ways to be part of, involved in, and contributing to that community (preferably, from your particular gifts, as you discover them).
