I have to disagree. I believe that the Sabbath was in effect before creation. I will have to look further into it, but if we take that the Ten Commandments are a reflection or transcription of God's character - well it includes the Sabbath commandment.
Like I said I will look into it further and come back. Feel free to give me some feedback though.

I find it totally reasonable that the Sabbath was in effect before the creation of the earth.
Is it not possible that God had ALWAYS worked within the 7 day cycle? I have often thought that this is precisely why He accomplished the task of creating the earth in that 7 day cycle.
Just my private thoughts
