Yes, 1943 is far friendlier. I do not like how EA has taken the game away from that with the blood and cursing.

I was just playing BF Bad Compy on PC and I have to turn off the audio so as not to be spammed with blasphemous talk and F Bombs galore. IMO, this is not needed and definately not wanted.

I want to share what happened when I voiced my concerns at EA forums concerning the blaspemy. They banned my account. I created another and was banned again for discussing something against their rules, being the discussion of God. It took me over a week to get a response from my dispute and they said I could access the forum again. But, if I argue that EA should provide a off switch to the blasphemous remarks then I am likely ti be banned again. Go figure. It is OK to drop F Bombs and use God's name with cursing but it is not OK to discuss God and religion at their forum???

Wow, talk about branding good evil and evil good... I'm gonna make a EA account and do the same thing, that is so ridiculous its hard to process...

Yeah and the thing is 1943 is a great game! I don't know why video game companies feel they have to go down the entertainment toilet, some of the games out there now are like sadistic pornography, much worse than most movies. ESRB used to keep a tighter ship on content but now they have drastically lower their standards.

I have a request for an option to turn of profanity and hope BF3 sees better days than BFBC2 has.

I'm an immersive gamer. I primarily play games to partake in, or even create, a storyline. So I mostly play RPGs, Grand Strategy Games (like Civ and EU) and The Sims.

PS: This may not be the place to ask this, so you don't have to answer, but I'm curious why you guys have such problems with cursing in games, but don't mind playing games centered around killing people?

In a rudimentary way when I play chess I am playing at war. It is a strategy game. Also, in my faith there are wars that are "just" and so warranted. But cursing is generally blasphemous and in my faith blasphemy is a grave sin. There is a lot of theological teaching that goes with this too so that it makes sense logically. Words are not just words, in scripture Jesus is called the Word and in Genesis we read where God created all matter with a Word so our words have power too. In demonic possession words have power to bind and so in many ways we can see power in our words. But this is a deep and lengthy topic and I have but touched on a few points.

I only play historical games on war, one of the reason of this is because I am a student of history and of warfare, I am also particularly interested in it because my brother fights in the army. I also find enjoyment in the strategy of a war game and the competition of it. But I will not play many games with blood in it and really the only war game I play, now that I have become a Christian is BF 1943 and its rated teen. I also would agree with everything Jack said.

And anyone who has a PS3, feel free to PM me if you'd like me to add you as a friend online. I'm always looking for friendly people to play with! Some of the people I play with online do nothing but curse and get upset when they play, which I think takes all the fun out of playing.

interesting point you raise Beechwell...never really though about that I dont tend to pay much attention to the swearing really. I'm playing Splintercell Conviction at the moment which involves killing but I like to see how devious I can be in doing it. Its one of the reasons I still have a ps2 cos Rogue Trooper is still one of my favorite games as is the Tenchu series for the same reasons.

I mainly play JRPG's-I love Dark Cloud 2, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger.

I also enjoy platformers like Mario, Sly Cooper and I still love all the old school games on the SNES, NES, Genesis etc, especially the classic sidescrollers I'll occasionally play fighting games and action/adventure games.
