What sort of gamer would you say you are?

I primarily play RPGs (PC type, though I'm starting to appreciate JRPGs) and some action games like God of War and The Force Unleashed. I also like shooters and 3rd person games that have RPG elements.

My 2 fave genres are Hack-'n-Slash (Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry, God of War, etc) and "2nd Person Stop-&-Pop Cover Shooters" (Uncharted, Quantum Theory, Gears of War, etc).

As I'm currently stuck in Japan with only a laptop to cater to my gaming needs, I'm going through the back catalog of games I haven't played yet. Exactly what I like to play depends on how I feel. I'm a fan of almost all types of games, although my favourites tend to be more along the lines of strategy games.

I like just about any game with the word "tactics" in it ala Final Fantasy Tactics, and Tactics Ogre...(Speaking of Tactics Ogre, they are re-releasing it for the PSP, hooray!)

Team games, whether or competitive or cooperative. It's much more fun when you get your cousins together and destroy each other in Super Smash Brothers. There's more potential for fights when you play co-op, though.

Strategy/Battle games. Mostly FPS.

Battlefield 2 is still my favorite multiplayer online game for PC.

BF2142 is cool.

I only plat FPS on PC and online since console sucks for this IMO.

Though I do play my xbox360 for car games like NFS and others.

my fav genre is action/adventure games, where you run around and jump/shoot/kill stuff, like Robocop vs. Terminator for Sega, Contra 3, the old Mario and Sonic games, or the God of War series.

I also like sports games, (NFL Blitz, NBA Street, Madden of Sega, NBA Jam, and Virtua Tennis and NBA Live before 2001, being some of my Favs)

I also love fighting games, like Killer instinc 2, Capcom vs SNK or Street Fighter III.

I used to be huge into RPG's, like FF7, Chrono Trigger, Xenogear, Parasite Eve and Wild Arms. Even tactical RPG games like FF tactics are cool.

Haven't really played many real-time strategy games that I liked. I'm not big on first-person shooters either, though I liked Metroid Prime and Halo. But as a genre, I could live without it.

Honestly, I'm jus not liking video games like I used to. I bought Batman: Arkam Asylum and Red Dead Redemption for 360 and just couldn't get into them.

Which game would I like to play? Recently I've had a desire to play some old PS1 RPGs, mainly Final Fantasy VII, IX, Xenogears, even some Chrono Trigger and FFVI.

Where would I like to play them? My room, where I play all my games.

I finally got around to starting FFVII. I haven't gotten far but so far I like it. I think I really missed out by not having a PS1 back in the day.

you've only just started playing FF7???!!!!??? you will not be disappointed I promise you for depth and enjoyment. Even now its a game I go back to again and again.

I've dabbled in pretty much every genre at least once barring sports games. Yawn-o-rama. I tend to spend most of my time playing FPS, scifi RPG (though open to trying fantasy RPG) and RTS (less though these days, although SC2 kicks multiple backsides).

I had a similar reaction, but I'm glad you are playing it (better late than never, right?) and I'd agree with The-Doctor, you will not be disappointed. Still one of my favorite games to this day.

So I just picked back up in Xenogears where I left off a while ago. Still an awesome game. Thinking of playing Chrono Trigger again when I'm done with that. Or Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. So many games to play....

Team Fortress 2, Half-Life Series(Best FPS ever made), Civilizations 5, StarCraft 2, Left 4 Dead, Counter Strike, Portal... I am a Valve fanboy. Used to play alot of Neverwinter Nights. I also have had the unfortunate encounter with world of warcraft, theres three years of my life I wont get back...

I want to play Civ5, I just can't currently buy it as I'm in the wrong country and therefore can currently neither buy it online (Steam won't let me unless I get a Japanese bank card) or in a shop. It's getting to the point where I'm considering just torrenting it and buying it proper when I get back to the UK.
