Love and Death's The Abandoning helped me more than I could even begin to explain. The whole ALBUM really stuck with me. Every song is

If you're unfamiliar with L&D, they're the new project of Brian "Head" Welch that he started sometime last year (although it basically is just a re-branding of his solo project).

And Demon Hunter has too many songs that touch my soul to list on this post.

Michael English - In Christ Alone

I totally agree on that one :) That song has made a huge impact on many people and its still one of my favorites by him. He is still making music and its still good :)

I have a few but will start at the beginning when I first came to Christ due to a song. It was Time Is Tickin' Away by DC Talk off the Free At Last album. They were talking about a "second birth" so my one friends at the time, who is a Christian, had a radio show on the local college radio station in Olivet, Michigan, so I called him up and asked him what that meant and he presented the gospel to me and that was the day I first met Jesus.

Over the years of running away from Him and then finally just letting go and just stopped running, I have found that older Christian music that I used to listen to speaks to me more than really anything new out there.

My signature has a portion of a song by Miss Angie called Free. A great song and not many people, I do not think, have heard of Miss Angie. I cannot seem to find it on YouTube for all to see, but, check it out where you can because its good. UPDATE - Well, the Miss Angie song lyrics were in my signature until I decided to change them back to I Never Wanted by As I Lay Dying.

A few other songs have really touched me and are amazing -
I Never Wanted - As I Lay Dying
The Great I Am - Agraceful
Void - Under Midnight
The Way You Want Me To Be - Spoken
A Flowery Song - Five Iron Frenzy
Home - Sometime Sunday (All their songs are great!)
Melody Of Salvation - Benjamin Dunn And The Animal Orchestra
Torque - Chatterbox
Would You Die For Me - Bride
The Abandoning - Love and Death

And so many, many, many, once more, many more :)

Oh and for those who love the band Deliverance, their last album - Hear What I Say - will be officially released on December 10th - The Wait is Over! | DeliveranceRocks.comDeliveranceRocks.com

And for those who like their music a bit hard, here is the song of the month - well, in my opinion. Hope you like the song and video and remember kids - Enjoy and Christ IS everything!

Love And Death - The Abandoning - YouTube

And, I had to show people this one. Unfortunately, the lead singer of this band is no longer with this group, they disbanded, and now he is in a new band as the lead and its not my cup of tea but, here is The Great I Am

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vEmyrPtXzI

Oh, and one more. Enjoy! I Never Wanted - As I Lay Dying

I have two that really hit me hard.

Sorry, I'm a newbie so I can't post links :)

The first is Deathbed by Relient K. I have yet to make it through the whole thing without bursting into tears. It's basically a story about a man who's on his deathbed and he's looking back at his life. He goes through all of the horrible things he did/things that happened to him and feels a ton of regret. And then as he dies Jesus comes and shows him the time he broke down and begged for forgiveness. It's literally the most touching song I've ever heard in my life.

The second's Losing by Tenth Avenue North. I like to listen to it when I'm feeling depressed or been offended over something. It's a beautiful song :)

Here is a song that made an impact on my life. The chorus is a cry out to God and towards the end, yeah its amazing. On other live version of this on video, the crowd and band go right into I Love You Lord after they play this song, but not on this one. I think everyone will like it. Part of my signature comes from the song. You can hear the passion within Reese when he screams Dear God...Increase!

And in just a few days their new album, Engine Of A Million Plots hits stores and the net for purchase.

Me, I couldnt wait, so I got it already and from what I have listened to so far, its very good and in the same vein of Five Iron Frenzy 2: Electric Boogaloo. I think this will go over well for those who have waited for a good Christian ska album.

Supertones and Insyderz have released new material as well, but, in my opinion, they do not capture how they used to sound, but with FIF, its like they have never even left the music scene, so, when it comes out - go out and buy it or pre-order it from their website.

Beautiful by Mercyme had me crying my eyes out when I first became a Christian a little over three years ago. I guess I was feeling pretty selfish and on a pity-pot back then.

Then I found Revelation Song by Phillips, Craig and Dean.

Then Mandisa's Not Guilty hit me like a ton of bricks.

Lately Blessings by Laura Story and Finally Home by Mercyme.

I do my own versions of these songs, just me and my guitar. Except for Beautiful. I don't want to risk crying on stage, after all, I'm a big strong guy! :+)

There are so many songs that have such powerful lyrics and beautiful melodies. It's hard to pick just a few when so many have spoken to me, but off the top of my head:
You are my God - Doug Horley
He took a chance on me
I'm not ashamed - Delirious
Blessed be your name
My Dad wrote a song called 'Don't be discouraged' and that song has really touched me!
Thank you so much Lord for giving us the gift of music.
May God bless all,
Liz
