As an evolutionist, I want to say that evolution and God are perfectly compatible. I think that modern scientific thinking and the Bible can be in perfect harmony.

And before you get ganged-up on by creationists, let's not that you said "God," not "A literal interpretation of Genesis." Some folks just can't seem to tell these two apart.

Suppose evolution were true--would God give a detailed description of complex biology, natural and sexual selection, and genetics to a group of nomadic herders, or would he give them a story that told them that God created everything and will take care of us?

As a teacher, let me say this:

If anyone could explain what DNA was to those nomadic herders, I'd not only recommend that he/she be hired at once as the head of our science department, but that they begin a teaching workshop to share their technique. I've got my hands full getting modern students to understand Mark Twain.

There are many high profile Evil-outionists which say & know the Bible IS incompatrible with Evil-oution, they have said so! Evil-oution makes God superfoulous; if He did it through Evil-oution why do we need Him (GOD) in the equation. We dont & the Evil-outioinist knows this! That is why they jump for joy when shortsighted Christians adopt the untenable premise of theistic Evil-oution, as they are out of the great struggle for God by default!

LadyShea AKA-Humanist--->Do humanism and Christianity fit in the same boat? Do they have similar idealogies? As far as why I don't respond to actual threads...Because I am only on this site maybe 3-5 days a week max for maybe 30 minutes each time...There have been about 85 replies, mostly from evolutionists trying to prove creation false like it's their job. What do you think God is going to say when the evolutionist comes face-to-face with him in heaven and judgement time? He is most likely going to ask you why you discredited his perfect creation and accused him of a flaw-filled, "by-chance", happened-to-land-in-place creation? WoW, just imagine how Darwin felt; poor guy.

The truth is, I have not actively studied creation-evolution in a while. That is why I didn't have the source of the info on the 13 foot long human body that was found in Italy. However, I am suprised that, being such smart, intellectual people that the evolutionists always claim to be, that you guys couldn't find that article yourselves. Heck, i would expect with your intelligence level that you would have already known this to be fact and wouldn't even have to look it up. Are you just denying it because it looks really bad on your hypothesis of evolution? Well, When I do have time in between my 2 jobs, I will check into it for you guys....

Also, as far as the measurements of the ark....Do you know how they measured the ark...inches, feet, yards??? None...The measurements that were used to measure the ark were those of body parts...for example, the forearm to the fingertips of an individual was a very popular way to measure. Now, take that forearm to the fingertips of a person in today's society and how long is it?... Maybe an average of 18 inches or so? In this case Lady, you would be correct. However, back then, people were much much larger...hence, the forearms to the fingertips could have been anywhere from 2-4 feet easily. So, take your measurements and double them...double the size of the ark and there you have it.

And as far as Hovind being a liar and "buying" his degree.... Do you have a college degree? If so, you bought it didn't you? The only way that you didn't buy it is if you went to school for free for some reason....The argument of him "buying" his degree is not a strong one since just about everyone with a degree has purchased it...(pay tuition, take classes, pass, get degree = BOUGHT DEGREE)

So, do you still believe the barcode site is lying? Who would more likely get the barcode system incorrect, Hovind, or the creators of it?

If Hovind cant be trusted to learn about how a barcode works (a simple, single, google search and a 3 minute read) how can we trust him about anything else?

Evil-ution?
The only other place I've ever seen the word "evil-ution" used was on a Christian Parody website.
Betty Bowers often uses the word when smiting the sinners.

i believe god made everything perfect and everything on the earth had a purpose but over the years man has polluted the earth and polluted himself and one another causing the fruits of the earth and the fruits of man to to sometimes produce mutations we already wiped out species of insects and animals which had a purpose in this world without them and the ignorance of man will obviously cause this world to evolve but not for the better

Well, in humans two examples are sickle cell Animea protecting against Malaria. Then there is the Mutation a few have that protects them against AIDS.

Then of course, a recent talked about example in other creatures is a Bacterias mutation that allows it to Digest Nylon.
