We talk about being Christ- like, witnessing, giving up idols, and giving up sin, etc. What does a 24 hour day look like for a true believer? Thoughts? How does one stay out of the world when we are in this world?
Hi ml5363, one important part of doing that is remembering who we are/Who we serve by studying the word of God daily and
renewing our minds (if you choose to "
treasure" God's word in your heart by memorizing important verses and passages from it, renewing of your mind can be more of a moment by moment thing instead

).
Romans 12
2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Here's a little more of what the Bible has to say.
Deuteronomy 11
18 You shall therefore impress these words of mine on your heart and on your soul; and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontals on your forehead.
19 You shall teach them to your sons, talking of them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road and when you lie down and when you rise up.
20 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates,
21 so that your days and the days of your sons may be multiplied on the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give them, as long as the heavens remain above the earth.
Joshua 1
8 “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.
Psalms 1
1 How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season
And its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers.
2 Timothy 3
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.
--David
Psalms 119:9,11
How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Thy word. Thy word I have treasured in my heart that I may not sin against Thee.
The is a 30 minute daily broadcast (radio and online) by Dr. R. C. Sproul (and other teachers) called Renewing Your Mind that can be helpful as well. Interestingly, today's broadcast is called, "The Word of God in Spiritual Growth"
