I have had several people tell me I am wrong to attending a AOG church, that God will be sure to judge me, and I will not enter heaven. I am a very devoted christian, I put God first in my life, I know that I will make heaven, Praise God!!
The people that claim that I am wrong believe in the teaching of the Church Of Christ. They claim that the Church of Christ is the only true church, and any man made church is going against the teaching of Christ, these churches will not enter heaven.
How do I tell this people to back off?
I want to be polite, but this bothers me.

Hmm, Church of Christ. Is this the ICC, which is pretty notorious for recruiting young people in colleges and universities, and has been known for extreme shepherding/discipling practices. If this is the same group, they also believe that one must be baptized as a disciple, in their church, to obtain remission of sins. They are also not charismatic in that they deny the present-day ministry of the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit.

Hmm...perhaps what they need is an encounter with the Holy Ghost! Next time they face you, ask God to give you words of knowledge, words of wisdom, even parables that'll trip them up, cuz in their religiosity, they won't be able to comprehend them. You should even ask them, "What signs and wonders are following you?" If they can't give you a concrete answer, then tell them "I'm gonna stay where I am till God says differently."

I agree, I have never condemn someone for attending a church other than mine.
I went to a "Passion Of Christ" play that was supported by a very large Baptist church last night, it was one of the most wonderful things I had even seen. I do not agree with some of the Baptist teachings, but there play brought over 100 people to Christ in one night, Praise God they did the right thing. If God wants me to worship and be tought different than what the AOG teaches, he will let me know. :amen:

You just keep attending your Assembies of God church. Stay in your relationship with Christ. you are in a safer place. One of the main signs of a church that is a cult is that they think that only they are the true church and all others are going to hell. If these people say this to you again, just smile. Thank them for their concern and say that you are very happy with your church at this time and God will be the one to tell you when, if ever, to leave.

My answer to that kind of thing from people is usually something like...

"I really appreciate your concern, and I am completely open to whatever will help me grow in Christ. I honestly believe that this is where God has placed me, but since you feel so strongly about this, why don't you pray that if God wants me to move somewhere else that He will speak to me about it."

Then... if God speaks to me about this issue-- I just obey God. And if He doesn't... then I keep doing what I feel God has directed me to do.

BTW, most AoG churches I know are pretty solid (and my father was an AoG pastor).

Any Church that claims to be the only ‘true’ church has missed the point of the Gospel of Christ that reaches out to all of us as sinners both Jews and Gentiles alike and shows that Jesus Christ is the only way truth and life. These people may also be a part of the body of Christ as some of the Baptist bride-er churches that think if you are not dipped in the Baptist water at there church you are not part of the ‘bride’ of Christ. You need to walk in love and ask how they came to know Christ, listen to the testimony of the heart and be ready to share how you came to know the Lord from the Holy Bible. Do not condemn the religion try to bring it to the base line of the Holy Bible, so if they object then they are rejecting the Holy Bible and not rejecting you. That way you can be the conduit of reconciliation to a more loving and correct relation with the Lord. Walk in peace and pray in the Holy Ghost.

I don't believe there is "ONE TRUE CHURCH" out of all the denominations.
There is, however "ONE TRUE GOD", He doesn't cause splits between denominations, people do.
The "church" is the bride for the bridegroom (Christ)
What does this church think happens to all the other denominations - bridesmaids? ushers?
What really matters is the personal relationship we have with Jesus, not which denomination we attend.

Like Father Rick and so many other people have responded, there is nothing wrong with going to an AG church if you feel that's where God is leading you to be at. I have really begun to analyze why I feel like I do when I ask people their denominations and they say something different other than Pentecostal or some variation of it. We are all One in the body of Christ, not scattered every which way. But if God isn't telling you to go somewhere else, then I wouldn't worry about it too much.
