Anglicans are Catholics, but are not of Rome.
We acknowledge the wisdom and insight of the East, but we are not under Constantinople.
We agreed with the Protestants that the Church in the West had become corrupt, but we purified the Church instead of reforming doctrines.
We are truly Catholic and truly Apostolic.
Most of all you want to stay away from here and find a good Anglican priest to talk to. Many here believe themselves and their pet agendas to be the be all and end all of Anglicanism.
Mind you, so do some Anglican priests. Most of all you want to stay away from here and find a good Anglican priest to talk to. Many here believe themselves and their pet agendas to be the be all and end all of Anglicanism.
Indeed unfortunately true my friend.Mind you, so do some Anglican priests.

Some practical advice if you do become Anglican. My wife is Anglican and my children are Anglican. You have to be ready to face the real world implications of Anlicanism.
Specifically, no reflection in the mirror. My wife has come out of the washroom after trying to apply makeup and I swear its like she wants to attend an Alice Cooper concert. I don't have the heart to say anything. So shaving would be a B*tch for you.
Also, you'll no longer be able to enjoy real Italian spaghetti. garlic.
Other than that you should be fine.![]()
I would agree with that.Politics is an 'interesting beast'
Sometimes I think people want to others to be frogmarched to the same theological tune or to be robotic and automatic in their responses to ensure consistancy.
It is probably the inconsistancy, rather the diversity and range of thought, that most find objectionable or most at odds with. What doesn't conform is perhaps deemed fearsome.
However fearsome it remains unique and seemingly held together. Regardless we still focus on what we know to be right, proper and true in whatever tradition and 'space' we feel comfortable.

But don't forget that there are many Anglicans who are thoroughly protestant. I disagree with PV's statement and I am as thoroughly Anglican as he.This is the basic of our believe, but go to an Anglican Church and see if they use the Anglican Prayer Book. On the back you will find the 39 articles. This is important for you to know.
Hope this helps.
