What should happen when a politician is caught out in a lie?

The masses are perfectly capable of bamboozling themselves, the problem is that politicians, no matter how honorable their intentions, can do very little to change that. To argue that the masses are somehow the victim in this scenario is to forget who put the politicians there in the first place.

We the people are the problem. It's we who are to blame. It's our ineptitude, our ignorance, and our incivility that's on display in those halls. Congress is supposed to be a microcosm of the best of us... which doesn't speak very highly of some of my fellow Americans.

The whole point is the politicians are a ruse, put there only to keep us believing we have a say in matters through them.

Actually the only time the masses have a say is when they revolt and tear down a government only to replace it with one built on the same old foundation. We deserve ourselves and what we get.

The "ruse" of all the media, finance, education, politics, basically everything like in the days of Noah,
is believed just like in the days of Noah
by all except the few who get on the Ark and are thus saved. Right ?

Doesn't matter, does it, how they got there/anywhere/ in office or power, secretly or openly,

That is because we are of a different world. The politicians and the like serve the world mankind has made in our own image, but some have rejected those backwards ways to become normal again, thus being seen as odd.

They should be held criminally responsible, new laws should be created to cover this, "Political Fraud" charges, but it will never happen as they will not pass laws that target themselves. We literally vote them in, to pay for their lavish lifestyles while they then use their power to mess us up and make those at the bottom of society poorer, the Parliament of the UK, The Congress of the USA, the Government bodies world wide are all a bunch of self-serving sociopaths.

I was thinking of lies on resumes; inflated qualifications, fake degrees, that sort of thing. They are intended to mislead and thus actually plain lies told by politicians.

They should be given leadership positions and important committee assignments, well, unless they are lying and deceiving Democrats, then they should be given a fair show trial and locked up for life.

I think in some cases these folks are truly deluded. There are women who think they should have been born into a man's body and therefore insisty they be called men. These "men" living in women's bodies can have babies. We know that is what they are saying and aside from delusion about their gender, they are not really lying. However, there are those whose delusion proceeds into the realms of a "flat earth religion" where they insist that a biological man can also have a baby. This is the lie. What is dangerous is when the liars start making laws based on the lie (not delusion) and people start losing Jobs and are even fined because they will not participate in the lie. A biological man will never have a baby... there, I said it. Punish me.

I am just saying that sometimes a lie is not a lie, it is just a delusion.
Thinking the old adage A lie is not a lie if you believe it.
But if you know it is a lie and tell it to harm someone or increase yourself.. then there is punishment in order.
