Jim it's simple if we love and move in the POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT no words are needed to be said that this is wrong or that is wrong. The church has spent 1000 yrs. preaching damnation instead of salvation. It's the power of God that changes lives not mans words or laws back up by death.
amen and hopefully it is a spirit led preacher there is a time for love and a time for hard words but only when the spirit leads

As I've said before, people are threatened by what they don't understand.

People can understand anger becuase they've been angry. They definitely understand greed because we've all felt that emotion at one time or another...

Even divorce... Anyone in a marriage knows that at some points in the relationship, things get so hard, that you consider divorce... even if it's a fleeting thought that you discount right away.

But, homosexuality... that's something that people just don't understand. Is it nature or nurture? What makes someone a homosexual? Do they think differently than me? Why do they want to get married anyway? Why would they want to raise children? Will they paint their house pink if they move in next to me? Will they kiss, GOD FORBID, each other goodbye in their driveway in the morning?

So many things that people just can't comprehend... So, they turn to the Bible for answers...

So, the hate and the ignorance just passes on from generation to generation. But, it's getting better. With each generation, people are becoming more and more tolerant towards the gay life. And even in some churches, the United Church of Christ for example, gays and lesbians are welcomed to Christ's table. What a concept...

You must be a homosexual. It has nothign to do with hate or ignorance. I dont hate homosexuals, i hate homosexuality. It is a vile disgusting unGodly thing. When it is so explicity spoken against in the Bible, how can any God-fearing Christian condone that type of activity? My children will NOT grow up with a tolerance for homosexuality , just as I would not have them grow up with a tolernace for rape or murder; wrong is wrong. Any church, regardless fo denomintion, that allows those kinds of practices, is not very Biblical, and would have to be on the border of Christianity. Feel free to flame me all you want, you still will never be right.

Only people from the left start accusing of "living in hate and fear" -- I've encountered it enough to know. And I am ex-gay. I understand it all too well. It is a pit to wallow in. Unless you give it up, you will never know Christ. And I can say with confidence that if you are in this sin, you do not know Christ, because you make him out to be a liar and his promises broken.

To think that homosexuality is wrong means ignorance and hate? That's calling evil good and good evil.

It is pretty clearly stated. An unrepentant, unresisting homosexual is as much in danger of the fires of hell as an unrepentant adulterer, murderer, etc.

Paul says that male prostitutes (a homosexual in the feminine role) and homosexual offenders (masculine gays) are both condemned, unless they repent and purify their hearts.

Amen - there are others here at CF who have been made free by Jesus.

After being saved I understood how detestable my heterosexual promiscuity had been. I had no idea - I had counted it all as "love". Profane love has no place in the kingdom. I thank Jesus that I have been freed from those desires.

OK - it helps that I was 53 when my husband died! :sorry: But that doesn't mean that sexual desire dies completely, does it?

Anyway, Jesus is my rock and my salvation now!

I don't know, here in Maine, we are do to vote on a bill which makes it illegal to discriminate against homosexuals. It was brought into law by the governor and Christians brought it to a ballot.

I don't think homosexuals are a threat to marriage and family. Heterosexuals are, out of 100 heterosexual marriages 49 end in divorce.

I am still up in the air about how to vote on the 8th, but frankly why aren't Christians up in arms about the divorce rate. Why aren't Christians working to make it harder to divorcE?
