  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm not sure i totally understand your question.. If you are saying what religions are Christian? Only those that would follow the Bible, old and new testiment. Believe there is one God and one medator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus. The Chart came to die for the sins of the world and it it ONLY through him and by His sacrifice we can be saved... That is summing it all up in a nutshell....

Religions such as Judaism and Isalm are NOT Christian, not at all....

Christian? Or - is that a stupid question? I really don't know.

If you have a Barnes and Noble book store in the area , look up and thumb through a book called " the kingdom of the cults" , by Hank Hanegraaff and Walter Martin, though some of it is a bit biased ....

Mainline Christianity , the status quo , so to speak
Baptist , Methodist , Lutheran , Catholic , Christian , Reformed Church , Amish , Mennonites, Brethren [ the fruit of the reformation +/- ]

sorta betwixt and between [ not your average denominational body , not a cult or sect ] Church of God , Word of Faith , Four Square Gospel , Assemblies of God etc. [ the fruit of the reformation +/- ]

Cultic [ differ in one or more doctrines , with mainline christians ] Mormons , Jehovah's Witnesses , 7th Day Adventists' , Pentecostal [ Jesus only ] , Church of God

NonChristian , with Christian overtones : Christian Science , Bhai , New Age , Secular Humanism , Dianetics , etc.

NonChristian - children of Abraham , children of the book : Moslem , Jewish

nonchristian - heathen / pagan: Moonies , Khrisna's , buddhists , Shintist , Taoist , bhai , Hindu

I think here is a branch of the pentecostal denomination that only believes in salvation through Jesus but the 'normal' pentecostal believe in the trinity.

To my knowledge there isnt much difference between pentecostal and baptists - the main difference being the beliefs of gifts of the holy spirit.
