So I posted this on another thread and haven't got any responses to it. Basically it is a list of attributes of humanity that both separate us from other apes and that we share with other apes, mammals, vertebrates, animals and eukaryotes.
So two questions basically which are human specific traits and which are not, and what traits do all other organisms have that humans do not which would separate them from us?
- We are living organic matter
- multicellular organisms with cell nuclei in most of our cells
- we ingest other living organisms to gain nutrients
- we have a skeletal system which resides within our body
- we are placental
- we have three innner ear bones
- mammary glands
- with large brains relative to our size
- stereoscopic vision better than our olfactory senses
- we have opposable thumbs
- with nails on our digits
- of which there are five on each of our four extreme appendages
- three distinct types of teeth
- we have complex societal structures far in excess of other mammals
- tool use
- tailless
- omnivorous
- gestation periods of 8-9 months
- with four distinct blood types
- no opposable thumb on two of our appendages
- the want to wear clothing
- written language
- the ability to produce fire.
