I don't mean to come back all depressed again but, i'm not saved.

My guess is that I got all happy for nothing yesterday. I know i'm not saved because God has not done anything to me since then. I haven't changed one bit. Back to square one again being completely depressed.

Now i'm not expecting a perfect change, no i know that's not what happens. But when God saves you he lets you know. You just know. The fact that I still have no idea means nothing has changed.

In fact i think i'm not saved because I don't see my true need.

I'm not truly sorry for my sins. None of us really are. Only God can make us see how bad sin really is.

...

There is a ton more than that. And it brings me to conclusion that until i feel the need for Christ and am truly grieving over my sins, until all of the paragraph above happens to me, my salvation wont come.

Since i can't post any links just put this into the address bar:

What Must I Do To Be Saved?

http://blog.htmlinc.com/lost-alone/

It is not about a feeling my friend. If you took the simple steps in the link above then rest assured, you are a child of God most high. From here, it is about growing in your walk and your faith in Christ Jesus. When a baby is born he does not pop out and run laps, he is helpless at first and then learns to crawl and then walk and then run. Be patient, read the bible, ask the Holy Spirit to lead you and pray in the simplest form to God, go to church... grow.

I will be praying that you are gripped by the greatness of God. Speaking of that, that is the title to an amazing book by James MacDonald if you want to look it up.

I have an issue with that type of way though. Just praying a simple prayer is not going to get me saved at least from my experience so far. I've prayed that prayer multiple times. Nothing has changed.

No, praying a prayer isn't salvation. The Savior gives you salvation. It's free. He died on the cross for it.

What would you have yourself do? If I give you a Christmas gift in a few weeks and you open the UPS package and see it all wrapped with a bow, what are you going to do for me before you open it? The burden is acceptance, if you do not accept then you are correct, you are not saved.

It really is this simple:

  1. Realize that you are a sinner. No matter how good a life we try to live, we still fall miserably short of being a good person. That is because we are all sinners. We all fall short of God’s desire for us to be holy. The Bible says, “No one is good—not even one” (Romans 3:10 NLT). This is because we can not become who we are supposed to be without Jesus Christ.
  2. Recognize that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you.The Bible tells us, “But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while were still sinners” (Romans 5:8 NLT). This is the Good News, that God loves us so much that He sent His only Son to die in our place when we least deserved it.
  3. Repent of your sin.The Bible tells us, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away” (Acts 3:19 NLT). The word repent means to change our direction in life. Instead of running from God, we can run toward Him.
  4. Receive Jesus Christ into your life.Becoming a Christian is not merely believing some creed or going to church on Sunday. It is having Christ Himself take residence in your life and heart. Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door [of your life] and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in. . .” (Revelation 3:20 NKJV).

I believe you are right and wrong in your thought process. Simply reciting the Romans Road prayer will do nothing but praying it with the desire to know Him and having the faith to believe is all that is required.

By the way, I also prayed it multiple times, I was baptized seven times and thought I was lost forever. If you get bored and want to read about it, the link above has my testimony on it.

I will be praying you find your answers.

You'll notice that nowhere in the Bible did Christ ever tell anyone to say a prayer to be saved.

No. He simply said to believe what He told you about Him going to the cross to save you from separation from God. Nothing more, nothing less. (He really never even said that you have to do all this "repenting" first. (Of course, that is going to come as a natural consequence of wanting to love Him, but it was never a requirement.)

Dear armizer. God Loves us, and God has given us free will; God will not force us. God wants our Love freely given and no taggs attached. Have you told God in Prayer what you would love to have, and have you started to show God that you are serious? that you would try to become as God wants us to become:
Loving children/sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father? Let God see that you are serious, that you are trying to become as loving and caring as Jesus has told us to? God will not force you and if you would like to do, or become,
let God see that you mean it. I say this with love, armizer. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.

The fact that I am on here asking these questions, trying to find the truth, is because God is probably working in me right?

Absolutely right. Human nature typically leans towards self-righteousness and pride, as opposed to the Christian perspectives. The yearnings you feel are evidence of the Holy Spirit at work, and He doesn't ever quit what He starts! However, it doesn't guarantee a life without struggles and doubts. It's all part of our journey. I have battled depression for most of my life, and my father has as well. It's a part of our Earthly journey, but it doesn't make us doubt God... Jesus spent a lot of His time on Earth caring for the weak, the poor, the sinners, and the broken. On the other hand, He usually rebuked the self-righteous prideful ones.

Make Him your all. And give it all to Him. If you give it all to Him He will give it all to you. He will reveal himself unexpectedly if you seek and worship him in spirit and truth and have a child-like faith. Love Him and seek Him and pray and ask to receive the Holy spirit. Ask to receive the holy spirit. Ask to receive the Holy spirit. I said it three times but thats because once you receive the Holy spirit and He remains in you and you walk by the spirit. You just know that you are saved and you know God is with you because you feel his beautiful tangible presence. And when you sin He will convict you so that you learn from your mistake. And just love Him and let him know that you love Him. Because God wants us to have a beautiful spiritual relationship with Him. I used to think like you before but I have given it all to him...all that I am and I know that he sees and knows all and I love Him with my all and He is in me and I am in Him. God bless you.

And you need to be sorry for your sins. Realize that God is Holy and we all have fallen short of His holiness and glory. Every sin you committed was against God basically because there is no sin in Him. Ask Him to change you and to change your heart. Ask to receive the Holy spirit in you. He will come to you as you are and change you. Have you felt God's presence? If you haven't keep seeking Him and tell Him you want to feel his presence.....And you do trust me...There is nothing better than His presence.

The same thing happens to me. My prayers seem unanswered and I question my salvation all the time. Not trying to spoil your faith but I just wish God would saying something to me. Give me a sign or something. I will continue this path for now. Good luck to you armizer.

Dear armizer. In Matthew 22, Verses 35-40, Jesus told a Lawyer: " The first and great Commandment is: Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it: Love thy neighbour as thyself."
Then Jesus states this great fact: " On these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." Love is very important, God is Love, and God wants loving children/sons and daughters. What do we do? We treat all we know and all we meet as we would love to be treated: kindly and with friendly words, helping hands and always being a good neighbour:
Jesus will give us His Love and Joy, and the Holy Spirit will empower us with His Love, also. Jesus told us: " Ask and ye will receive," then we thank God and share all Love and Joy with our neighbour: all we know and all we meet,
friends or not friends. We keep asking God, and thanking God, and sharing all Love and Joy with our neighbour. We might stumble or forget, then we get up and ask God to forgive us, and carry on loving and caring.
God will see our sincere efforts, and God will approve and bless us. The Bible tells us to " Repent," change from selfish and unloving to loving and caring.
Love is a Christian`s great weapon, Love will overcome all enmity and wrong behaviour, Love will turn everything to good or better. With God on our side what can go wrong, or what can be against us? Trust and Obey is what God wants from us: and Jesus will guide us all the way. Jesus Is The Way. God`s Words are stronger than all our negative thinking. I say this with love, armizer.
Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.
