If someone asked me today I would tell him to accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior. Accept Him with all of your heart and let the Holy Spirit guide you. I would tell him to pass all burdens onto Him,

John 3:15
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
I would then go on to explain how that Jesus death,burial and resurrection is what we are to beleive in.
I would tell him that God is our Abba Father and according to Galatians:
Galatians 4:6
And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
we are His childlren and because we are his children He wants us with him so devised a plan to accomplish this. Believe it and be part of His Family.

What does any of that mean though? How do you accept Him and how do he know if he is being led by the Holy Spirit?

I'm just asking. What do you accept about Him? Saying "Jesus I want you to be Lord and Savior of my life" is a loaded statement. Shouldn't you be able to tell someone what that means?

let me put it this way:
the bible says you need to be born anew by water and spirit...
which means in other words that you actually cannot do anything because it is a work of the Holy Spirit. You just have to accept Him in your life, in other words if you dont seek him or if you reject Him its your choice but if you seek Him He will accomplish everything... so there is not much that you can do... salvation is not a 'do-religion'...

That's fine. I just get this feeling, thus the reason for this thread, that people don't know how to explain what one must do to be saved. If you don't want to talk about it that's fine.

Of course I have an answer, but I don't need an answer from myself. I'm asking this question to see what others believe is necessary, if they think anything is necessary at all.
So you'd probably be best served moving from the pin's and needles on to a sealy

Not at all. What you're doing here though, is ignoring the question and trying to take the focus off of what I'm seeking an answer to. What I believe is irrelevant. An answer to this question from your perspective, and the perspective of others is what I seek.
