  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hiya, there is song that goes ""When the Music fades and all is stripped away and I simply come.... its all about you Jesus"""
The question I ask is what makes you happy? :)
What do you look forward most to in a day?
Is it looking forward to meeting a boy / girl friend? The hope of meeting someone one day? Having a family? Career? Holiday? Friends? even health?
But what if we lost all or some of those things, could we still be happy?
How much do I depend upon them?
Job lost it all but wow what a man he still worshipped God!!
The thing is if we can DEPEND upon Jesus and stand in awe of Him, make Him our passion, longing and overwhelming joy, then how much happier and chilled we will be, especially if we havent as yet got a dear spouse.
I personally believe that the greatest happiness that we should have is to wholly enjoy the comapny of God and His Son Jesus.
What greater thrill is there than to be in His presencse worshipping Him, after all we may as well get used to it, coz it will be 24/7 in heaven lol.
Do any of you feel like that about your life?
Take care bless you all...Fm Uk John

The song is The Heart of Worship by Matt Redman and I think the rest of the lyrics are worth posting because they really sum up the thing we should take delight in most--bringing glory to God!

When the music fades
And all is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring
Something that's of worth
That will bless Your heart

I'll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You're looking into my heart

I'm coming back to the heart of worship
It's all about you
All about you, Jesus
I'm sorry Lord for the thing I've made it
When it's all about You
It's all about you, Jesus

King of endless worth
No one could express
How much You deserve
Though I'm weak and poor
All I have is Yours
Every single breath

I'll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You're looking into my heart

I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about You
All about You, Jesus
I'm sorry Lord for the thing I've made it
When it's all about You
It's all about You, Jesus.

That song is awesome eh.

People need to realise that there is a difference between happiness and joy.

Happiness is what the world has. Money makes the world happy. Sex makes the world happy. Drugs make the world happy.

But what happens when you pick up a debt? What happens when you become impotent, or unattractive by the worlds standards? What happens when you have no money for drugs, or you overdose?

No longer are you happy.

Joy is what we have. Sure we can still be happy with things, thats a given.
But because we have Jesus there is no circumstance. NOONE can take away Jesus. So when we have no money, we can be joyous because our strength is in the lord, and we know he will provide.

The Joy of the lord will be my strength. That joy is not circumstantial.

God Bless, metal.

Sleeping :D I really enjoy naps.

Long-term, I'd have to say the thing I most look forward to is one day giving God a really big hug, which I'm guessing will be in heaven. I'm not really expecting many of the rest of those things. If they come, great, but if not, oh well. So, does wanting to give God a hug count as worship? I'm the most unmusical person you could ever imagine. I can't play any instruments (and I've spent years trying), my singing is so bad that I can't stand listening to myself even when I'm all alone. Most of the time, when people think of worship, they think of worship music... But worship should be more than just music. That's what I get from that song.

Like fishstix, I want my eyes on the prize: going home to my LORD. All else seems petty... but it isn't. We do have responsibilities here.

But what makes me happy?
laughing. tons of it. TONSTONSTONS. I adore laughing. uh, duh.
singing worship songs
driving with the windows down
spending quality time with pals
(all of the above at once!)

I think what makes me the most happy is spending time with friends and/or family and having a good time. When I feel the love from my friends I can also feel God's love. My friends are so important to me and I wouldn't give up spending time with them for anything in the world.

I like jay_swift's warped sense of humor.

I also enjoy great music, reading on my patio early in the morning and late in the evening, I love the beach, I like spending time with my roommate's kids, I love my women's small group because it's so uplifting and inspirational, I like the free feeling I get from swimming, and I thrive on connecting with other people.

I do look forward to the husband and family and for reasons I'd rather not explain, I know that it's in my future, but for now, I want to be happy with the little things, myself, and most importantly, my relationship with God.

Being around happy people makes me happy. :)

I'm happy whenever my little sisters express love and affection towards me. I guess that would go for anyone I'm close to expressing love and affection for me.

I'm happy whenever I do or say something that makes someone blush and lose all train of thought. Example: saying this to my boyfriend, "Do you have any idea how it makes my day just to hear from you?"

I guess I'm happy with anything that falls along those lines.

Playing music, Driving with the windows down (or top down on convertible) on a sunny day, and seeing a girl smile. (I am really a smiles person, everytime I see a girl smile I almost start blushing)

BTW i see happiness as temporary fulfillment, joy is something you have even when you aren't happy.
