Currently SUSE on my desktop and server. Am gonna be loading Ichthux (big ups to raphink and his team), a Christian version of Kubuntu, on this machine soon.

Well other as in Mandrake. I haven't found the need to upgrade yet, also I hear Mandriva is a little slower. I may upgrade at some point, or I may use something else. Actually what other else I am using is LFS. I haven't finished with it yet, but it's getting there. Then I guess I'll need to dream up a distro name of my own?

I use Suse 10.1 with KDE and really like it. I use TightVNC so I can access my Linux desktops from my main XP machine, or even from my wireless laptop (which runs XP) when I work at other locations in the house.

I have a server running FC3 but don't care for that distro on my home machine. For home use my preference has been Knoppix. Downloaded Ubuntu a while back but never got around to installing. Will try that one out.

I tried Fedora 6, Mandriva 2007, Ubuntu 6.10 but could not compile intel wireless drivers(I am a complete newbee). I installed SUSE 10.2 beta and it has the drivers built in so I think I'll use it for a while.
If all of them had these drivers like SUSE, I would have preferred Mandriva.

Another one I like but was not listed is Damn Small Linux (DSL). Actually, there is an embedded version of DSL that will run X with a full GUI inside of Windows. You know, boot Windows and then boot Linux right on top and switch between the two at will just like any other window application. I prefer to run Linux on its own system but my Linux box died big time and so I just put the drive with Linux on my game rig. This kinda sux because I use some development applications on Windows so I need at least one Windows system running. Well, at least early next year I will be building a new dedicated Linux box, chances are I'll be putting together a fanless (no fans!) mini-ITX running maybe a 1Ghz CPU. Man, it will be great to sit here working on a computer and be able to hear a pin drop
By the way LFS is Linux From Scratch, it's a tool that lets you build your own Linux distribution. I'll probably install it on the mini-ITX

Kubuntu, cuz I don't particularly like Gnome. And I run it in VMware on top of Windows.

I've used Gentoo a long time. I really enjoyed the great amount of control you had over your system. Compiling things took too much time though.
I recently found Arch Linux which is very good, simple, minimalistic (very fast too) for someone who knows a little bit more about computers/linux.
Am very uncomfortable using Ubuntu. It just starts up too much things I don't need (CUPS, HP Printer stuff?, Bluetooth?, a bittorrent tracker?! etc etc!) and it takes alot more time to learn how to disable them and customize the system than it takes to use a distro such as Arch Linux.
