What lenses do you have, and which do you use the most often?

For the amateur hobbyists out there, which lenses do you have, and which do you use most often?

For that matter, which cameras do you have?

I have a Nikon F50. It's a decent camera, though a little lightweight on the features, and a little noisy.

I have
(a) Nikon 1.4/50mm
(b) Tamron 70-300mm
(c) Vitacom 19-35 mm
(d) Nikon 35-80 mm (came with the body)

My favourite lens is the 50mm since it has the widest aperature. I like playing with the depth of field (especially of people shots) and being able to shoot in low light conditions without flash. Sometimes though I forget to decrease the depth of field when taking group portraits and some people in the back row are out of focus.

I like the wideangle lens for landscape shots and for rooms with many people in it.
I use the zoom lens for well zooming into people when I don't want to be intrusive and "in your face".

I rarely use the original Nikon lens since I'd rather use the straight lens.

For years, when I used to do photography as my sole means of income, to now, when photography is very much a sideline (except for the daily architectural shots I need to do for my work), I find the normal (50mm), 1/2 normal (24mm), and 2x normal (100mm) on a full-frame 35mm camera to be the most all around useful focal lengths. This was true for my medium format cameras (Pentax 6x7's) and also my large format camera (Sinar 4x5).

Actually though, on my digital camera (the Canon 10D), that is not quite true. I use two zooms with it, the Canon 24-70L and the Canon 70-200L IS, which, obviously, cover a much greater range, especially in the telephoto direction (my actual focal length with these two lenses is 38mm - 320mm ... instead of 24mm -200mm ... because of the 1.6x factor generated by the smaller image sensor on the 10D.

Finally, just FYI, my favorite lens of all time is my Canon 70-200L IS, the one that I own now. It simply won't let you take a bad picture

Before I bought into the Nikon system, the most used lens was the Canon 85 1.2 with a 24 f2.8 and 300 f4 tied for second. The most used Nikon lens has been the 135 f2 defocus control with the 20-35 and 80-400 tied for second. Kept a few of the Canon lenses for special application.

It is a good lens. Does real well as a low light lens since I can hand hold down to 1/10 (at 400mm). Subject can't be moving very well much though. Also makes a good sports lens in daylight. Limiting focus really speeds up the autofocus. It is really cool to see the image "lock on" when the VR kicks in.

For a year or two, I only used my Vivitar 100mm macro lens. I really enjoy taking macro stuff. The lens is okay, but it's really really hard to focus when you get close up.
