I voted for Action, Action/Adventure, RPGs, Simulation, and Strategy. I'd have to say that my favorite is RPGs, especially Fantasy RPGs. My most favorite game is NeverWinter Nights with the Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark expansions. I also like Historical RPGs like Empire Earth with expansion, Pharaoh with Cleopatra expansion, Age of Empires with expansion, Age of Empires II with expansion, Civilization II, and Caesar III. I have a few other Historical RPGs as well but I didn't list them all. I am wanting to get Baldurs Gate and Baldurs Gate II as well. Baldurs Gate, Baldurs Gate II, and NeverWinter Nights with both expansions are Dungeons and Dragons style games in case you don't know. I can easily play those for hours. :D

Games ,like Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask, which the main character is an orphan (Link), has a teacher or adviser (Zelda/Shiek), has a companion or sidekick with a major role (Navi, Tatl who are very annoying) and has a save-the-world-from-the-bad-guys kinda storyline (save Hyrule from Ganondorf and Termina from Majoras mask and that ugly moon).

when i first started playing games i like the fighting games the most. but now that i have been playing for some time my style has evolved into choosing games that have a good storyline. RPGs usually are the style of games that have this element. i wish my racing games had better storylines. one game that was ok but had a better storyline than any race game i have ever played is Racing Revolution, basically its a ridge racer 5.

Hard for me to choose, I guess it would have to be RTS, with rpg in second. I really liked C&C(whole series), Starcraft, War of the Ring, Empire Earth, and Age of Empires. However, they can be pretty slow paced, so if I'm bored with them I pull out fighting game, rpg or fps.

For me there's nothing better than an RPG or RTS that has a great storyline accompanying it. Star Wars KOTOR is a prime example of gaming perfection. I play alot of FPS's tho too. Battle for Middle Earth will put Warcraft to shame. THAT'S RIGHT I SAID IT :)
