• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What kind of computer do you have?

Are we resurrecting this post? k
My other puters are asleep right now but this one says "Hi!"

Ahhhh, I envy Mr. "many linux servers" too, but only because he is knowledgeable enough to set them up: I was very happy when Apple came out with Unix under their latest OS's hood, it made me not need to learn anything new to become a BSD user. and I think thats a shame:) Ah well, on with the specs!

'99 Blueberry iMac
400mhz G3
512MB PC100
ATI Rage 128 (16MB:()
IDE 10gig Quantum Fireball (stock with the iMac)
Firewire 80gig Fantom HD (just prior to the Oxford-911 version:(
and JAQUAR!

hehe, it's slow as molasses but at least it can still play Warcraft 3! Which is more than my friends 700mhz celeron can say...besides it multitasks ALMOST to the point that I do:)
(and I want a Wacom Tablet)

too many to list. we currently have 2 computers permanently logged on the switch <built in order to make cable modem cheaper and more available>, 3 working laptops in the house, plus one my father is currently trying to fix to become the new switch <someone spilt water on it before and it blew up>, plus another mac laptop with the screen not working. we also have countless body parts lying around, jars of screws etc.

oh, and we just bought a 17" flat LCD monitor, its beautiful! it certainly beats the 21" CRT weighing down my desk!

none of the computers has a processor <1gH, nor less that 20gB hard drives. all have NVidia cards now, mine is only a 2, but my sisters laptop is a 4. and all but two of the computers dual boot Windows 98/Mandrake 9.0.
i recently installed a new sound card and a second CD burner on to my computer as well.

i love my computer. they all have special handmade quality to them. :)

Which one of the just under 10 would you like to know about!

My house power meter runs like a circular saw blade!

All are custome built by myself other than my DELL Lattitude C800 laptop and my one server DELL PE2400.

I also have as much drive storage space in my home as there was content on the entire internet in July of 1996. It is just a tad out of control I think.

I backup up everything from all MY software, to music, to DVD's to documents. I am not going to lose anything.

My main game computer is a P4 -3.06Ghz, ASUS motherboard with hyperthreading enabled, 1GB of PC3200 DDR RAM, 24" server case, 5 hot swap 73 GB U160 hitachi drives, 16X DVD, Plextor 12/10/32 CD RW, HP DVD RW 200i, Imation LS 120 high denisty floppy, ATI Radeon All-in-Wonder 9700 Pro video card, Sound Blaster 5.1, 21" Viewsonic monitor, cordless keyboard and mouse, APC Smart UPS 1400 battery back up, Microsoft Sidewinder steering wheel, Microsoft game pad, cordless remote for video card to watch DVD's. I know I am forgettting something but you get the point> over kill ! I get to always upgrade to the lasteset and greatest for basically nothing so I do and my customers love to buy my slightly used components.
