what is rep points? how do you get them? what are they used for?

rep points are given to posters when someone likes their post a lot for whatever reason.

let's just say that I like your post. lol - I will click on that little lightbulb in the upper right hand corner of your post - and then enter a reason why I like the post. when I do this - your reputation number goes up.

in this thread however - there's no reason we "like" someone's post - but we do that to each others posts for fun.

the rep power is different than the rep number. the rep power is by how MUCH the rep POINTS go UP when you rep someone...

I don't know how to explain how the rep POWER goes up though
