do you know what your purpose is?
do you know what your calling is?
what are you here for?
what is your dream?

do you know?

if you do, what has knowing this done to your life? what are you doing to make it come to pass?

if you dont, feel to ask anyone about it, i feel it is absolutely important that all people everyewhere find their purpose, becuase we are wandering with no power or annointing or giftings where their is no purpose, i beleive that is the reason for poverty and sin and death in most peoples lives, they never got a glimps of what they were called to and capable of doing.

im not going to be bashful and afraid to tell my purpose, though it is a large thing, and it may cause some amount of jealousy, though i hope it does not.
my purpose is to be a speaker and writer unto the world and to the body of Christ in general, i beleive that through the grace of God i will touch literally thousands and hundreds of thousands if not millions for the Lord in this country. the Lord has told me that, though i dont know why he picked me.
i am called to rebuild the broken places in peoples lives, broken men and women and children who are malfunctioning and cannot fullfill their destinies in christ. it will be a ministry of restoration. a restoration back to our original divine calling and potential.

its changed alot in me, made me forget and leave somethings behind me forever. its made me passionate for people rather than things.
its created such a love and humility and compassion for people who are living less then their priviledge. its made me offlimits to many things and many things off limits to me.
like today God told me that i could only get on the net 2 or 3 days a week, for one hour each day, becuase i need more time to spend with him.
so i wont be here as much as i have lately. not everyday and not for very long. this in itself will draw me to important things here and not allow me to worry about things of no purpose.

i am trying to find all the material i can about the positions i will be in in my purpose and calling to educate myself and spend as much time as i can in prayer and in the word so i can be molded and changed into the tool i am called to be. i know that it will take spiritual experience and encounter with him, and the word of God in the scriptures, and that is the only way.

i hope you all join in and feel free to come as you are and talk about this, i feel we will all be crippled untill we can learn to stand in the strength of knowing our individual purpose and the confidence that brings.

and just incase you wonder, i do not beleive in personality tests etc, to show you what your good for, hearing directly from the Lord and getting a burning passion from the scripture and prayer is the only way to find your purpose. not looking at your natural personality, becuase that was of the world before you ever got saved and it is severly twisted and it is not what you are called to be, and if you are now saved but still the same way, that is not calling.
you cannot look inside yourself to find your purpose or gifts, you have to look into God and then he will put something new down in you, and that is what your purpose will be. he is the giver of purposes, and you cannot ever find yours on your own or through a personality test.
it is not always what you were naturally good at or enjoyed doing.

Lee Myers.
Godbless you.

do you know what your purpose is?

To glorify, worship, and serve God.

do you know what your calling is?

Teaching others about the Bible in some way. Maybe via writing, or preaching, or something else. I don't know specifically just yet.

what are you here for?

To glorify, worship, and serve God.

what is your dream?

To be all God wants me to be, and to serve Him for the rest of my life.

if you do, what has knowing this done to your life?

Got me outa my dreaming of being a computer programmer.

what are you doing to make it come to pass?

Following God to the best of my ability.

My purpose in life, after many years of not knowing, is to live my life for the Glory of GOD. I am to show others HIS love for them through how HE has shown me. Even in the worst of situations HE shows me how to tell others how it can also be changed to be a good or better situation.

My dream???? I can not bring everyone to know JESUS, but my prayer has been that I can bring my family to know HIM. I pray for them unceasingly. Maybe we could agree on this together. In Matt 18:19 -20 Again. I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my FATHER in Heaven. <20> For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them. I know we live in different time zones but if you pick a time in yours, I will make sure I am together with you in prayer. In verse 20 JESUS wants us to come together in HIS Name for this effective prayer (that is the key here). Their names are Buckey, Robbey, and Chris to know HIM. And Jenny and Shelly to come back to JESUS again. They hear with their ears but are blind in their hearts. Much thought has been given on this request. I have made some bad mistakes using this passage for this prayer until GOD explained the power of this prayer and to make no mistake in what you ask for. This prayer is to truly Glorify HIM through the salvation of my sons.

GOD Bless you
Janice

thankyou for your encouragement.
wow, are you an intercessor? do you consider yourself one?
i know some people beleive they are called to do nothing but pray and support those who go and work, how do you feel about this? is this what you are called to do?

osmaker,
thankyou for your reply, that is awesome that you know so much about where your going in life, and i do hope you find the answers to the rest of it.
and you giving up your dream to follow your new dream in Christ is amasing, one thing that stands out and is great to us all, know matter how diffrent we beleive in theology is how much we are willing to sacrifice for the Lord.
thats awesome brother.

wow... that is a beautiful thing.
i have a friend that is very much like you i beleive, his specific calling is to be an encourager. he is so kind and caring and compassionate, he has this love about him that accepts all as they are.
he is such an encouragement to me. i was once a fool, and looked down on him becuase he didnt have the great oratory skills and excellent brilliance that i desire, but now, i appreciate him more and more each day.
he doesnt have what i am called to have, but i really cant do what he does, not yet anyway, he has such a way of talking to people with such a love and compassion, he has such a tenderness and a kindness that you can see in him.
i was once praying in the altar and this big beautiful colored man with such love in his eyes came and put his arms around me.
man, is so appreciate him, more everyday.
me we need more people like you and him. we really do.

i will pray for your family and agree that they would be saved.
i do hope your family turns back to the Lord.
thankyou so much for your reply.

intercessory prayer is a term that used today in certain parts of the body of Christ to simply stand for a person interceeding for another in prayer.

in isaiah the bible said God looked for an intercessor but didnt find one.

to interceed simply means to go between two parties and bring those two parties together, you being the middle man. like the bible says that Jesus is our intercessor and he goes between us and the father.
i believe that because of Adam's failure satan is rightly called the "god" of this world is the bible does call him. and God does not have legal right to act in this earth without an intercessor. a person must pray unto the Lord if God is to act in this world that is own and enslaved by sin. without a person on this earth who has been saved by Jesus' intercession, beginning to interceed between this sinful earth and God, God cant come and act.

you may not agree with that, but it is true. as is shown in matthew 6 where Jesus directly tells us to pray to the father to come and do his will and bring his kingdom or control, to this earth. we have to pray for the Lord to come and act here on earth, or he cannot becuase of satan's legal ownership by Adam surrendeering it to him and becoming his slave.

also in psalms 2.6-7 we see an old testament fortelling of Jesus Christ the "Son" of God. and here the Lord tells the Son that he HAS TO ASK for the heathen and the uttermost parts of the earth.

intercessory prayer is a person Going to God on someone elses behalf.
your interceeding for that person, you going between God and them for them. your taking them and bringing them to God, and bringing God to them.
and becuase of earths sinful fallen state legally owned by the devil, God needs an intercessor, not becuase he isnt powerful, but because he made all law and obeys it.

to interceed is to just pray for someone else, beyond the basic petitioning of God. it is actually coming to God on behalf of another person. and causing the Lord to have a way to act in their life.
i understand that interceeding for a pastor is not the same as interceeding for the lost, becuase one is already saved. but it is intercession still, its going to God on behalf of that person.

its what you have come to an EI.
i fully agree with your understanding of that.

i know of several people who feel they are called to certain ministers and have commited their lives to prayer for that person, becuase if we will receive anything from God we must pray.

i remember a story of a man who was a pastor on staff in a church, and it is said that he was actually a greater preacher than the senoir pastor in the pulpit, but God called him to humble himself and stay in the shadows and give himself to intercession for the church and other things because he knew how to pray.
they say he had a journel, and this was during world war 2.
he would pray for his church and for the war, and God would reveal to him what would happen the next day and he would write in it his journel before hand, and it would actually come to pass. becuase of intercession.
he was interceeding between God and the earth, asking him to do his will and bring his kingdom or control to this earth.

i want to be a part of my mens sunday school class.
and God has said that for now my part will be to speak in the class whenever called on, but mostly, to pray and interceed and fast on behalf of the class, that Gods purpose for the class, would be established.

some people feel that the biggest thing God wants them to do is devote hours and hours to prayer for certain things, and i have no reason to say this cant be. and they call themselves intercessors, becuase that is their purpose, to interceed in prayer, and not be the one speaking in the pulpit.
no, i do not know anyone like this myself.

sorry so long, i hope you understand what im saying.

well if you dont mind reading books id recomend a book called
"intercession" (i think thats the name, or alteast its very similair)
but the author's name is Dutch Sheets.
just do a search for him and his books and youll find it.
it goes really in depth, but is the best book i know of on the subject.
and is enjoyable reading at the same time.
he tells how God can use our prayers to change the world.
thats basicly what intercession is all about.

hes a pastor in texas i believe,
but it is a great book.
if your really interested in learning about intercessory prayer, thats is probly the best way to go. cast a few dollars, a week of reading maybe.
but it could give you great insight on how to be a better Epaphras Imitator.

Lee.
if you have any specific questions ill do my best to answer them or find someone who can. and sure, if i come across something interesting, ill be sure to give you a heads up.

Hi Iktca and all

Iktca, you had asked me to explain Matt 18:19 - 20 in what this means to me. First of all, I read these verses for along time and did not understand its meaning for me in prayer. If you look at the verses 15 through 17 it talks about anyone who sins against you. Each time I needed to pray on a specific matter, I prayed alone to my FATHER. There was something that was missing in my prayer and so I prayed for guidence in prayer. Each time I thought of it HE lead me here to read and read and read. One day as I was reading it GOD brought the understanding of it to me in how I was to pray for this most urgent need for answered prayer. Matt 18:19 "I (JESUS) tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, (meaning anything - but be careful what you ask for) because in the next, it will be done for you by my FATHER in heaven. (20) For where two or three come together (in prayer and agree) in my name (JESUS) there I am with them." This is for me a powerful way to ask so that HE will be glorified from it. HE will be known that HE does answer prayer.

A truth on that this does work. After understanding the meaning I was going to be moving back home to be with my family. My sister and mother had a terrible falling out to the point that my mother disowned her-spoke constantly that she was not her daughter. I was angry at my sister for what she a done to my mother as well. I prayed for a long time that GOD would soften my mothers heart and heal her wounded spirit. Didn't happen. I could not understand why there was still so much bitterness. GOD brought to my attention that I needed my heart softened also. I cried to HIM that night to please take bitterness away from me. HE did. I asked a dear friend to agree on my prayer with me. She lived over 12,000 miles away from me. WE talked about why this way to pray and then she reminded me that over 7 years ago (at that time) she tried to explain this very type of praying and I did not understand it and then we could say no more than to just be praising GOD for answered prayers. When I did arrive back here to MD, I watched as each day went by the miraculous change in my mothers heart. Eachday she talk more and more love for my sister as to the hatred she once spoke of. We are a united family in love again - my mother, sister, brother and I. It is because I prayed for for GODS healing my heart first (sin) that I was then able to see that GOD wanted me to fellowship with my friend and ask her to pray with me. It brings such strength in certain prayers because before two can agree, you have to be honest and totaly open in your request.

I have prayed for GOD'S forgiveness with my sons not knowing JESUS. I was too busy in the flesh when they were young that I didn't even mention HIS name in the way I should have. For this place for me here now is to bring them to know HIM.

I can not leave without saying for me, I know I have to search myself before coming to prayer. I believe prayers are always heard and answered. I believe GOD knows my very words before they are spoken to HIM in prayer.

May our FATHER in heaven be glorified through our prayers.
Amen - (I believe)
Janice

yes, i fully agree. that is something we ALL are purposed to do.
thankyou for your reply.

pmarkquette
yes, you made a good point, though we all have a SPECIFIC purpose that is diffrent from everyone elses, we all have that specific purpose that we are called to do and accomplish, we all also have a realm of purpose and calling that is like everyone elses that the bible commands all people to do.
things like praying for our pastors and being merciful to the poor and the sinners who do not know anyother way to live.
thankyou very much for taking the time to read and reply.
