  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I take it then that you see nothing noble or meaningful in pursuing one's dreams, and self-actualizing by using one's talents in constructive and creative activities, such as art, science, philosophy, industry, education, etc? You object to people earning their self-respect and gaining the serenity that comes with that? You don't want people to have the confidence needed to go out into the world and to achieve happiness in life? You object to the fulfillment of human life on Earth?

Is that what you are against? Because these and other benevolent and life-affirming values are what I get from Ayn Rand.

go for it, the shower is a good place to practice or anywhere acoustically live because you can hear when you are on key or off key and adjust the sound accordingly, you may get rather good after a while.

Yes, that occurred to me earlier today; that although I have lofty aims,

my actual sense of achievement comes just from noticing progress; that there is something I can do now that I couldn't do last year.

Doesn't sound like much of a philosophy of life, but that seems to be the way I live.



(The other part of my philosophy of life is that it is OK to have a sentence span two paragraphs)
