Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm writing a devotion to deliver to my Bible class tomorrow, and am running short of verses for my topic. I'm speaking about how God is our ultimate. That he not only died for us, but that he is our ultimate fan/hero/lover/friend and so on. I would greatly appreciate it if you would share with me your favorite 'God is our ultimate' verse.

Actually, all of Psalm 91 is good. After 91:11, in 91:15, it says, "They will call to me, and I will answer them. They will be in trouble, and i will be with them. I will rescue them and honour them."

(John 3:16 NIV) "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

(John 3:17 NIV) For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

(John 3:18 NIV) Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

(John 3:19 NIV) This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

(John 3:20 NIV) Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

(John 3:21 NIV) But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."

In these passages we see that God saw the potential in mankind. And why not, HE made us in HIS image. God loves us so much that HE gave HIS only Son to sanctify us. If we believe in Jesus and follow HIS word then we to will become as a son or daughter to God. As such we inherit Gods’ kingdom, A kingdom that our little minds can’t even begin to imagine. In verse 3:19 it says,” Light has come into the world.” When we look this word Light up in the Bible we find this: (John 8:12 NIV) When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

Jesus, The Light of the world. Where Jesus is there can be no darkness. This means that there are no shadows either. Darkness, The Devil, holds all the evil things. Think about it… When do most of the evil things happen? The answer is, when it’s dark. Examples of this are… Whenever one warring country is attacking another, they usually position themselves in the dark of night. Rapist attack in the dead of night. Everything we don’t want other people to know about we do during the night. Because Jesus IS Light no evil can stand in HIS presence.



So, today we, as Christians, try to follow and live our lives as we think Jesus would want us to. This doesn’t mean that we’re perfect because the Bible makes t clear that we all fall short…(Rom 3:22 NIV) This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference,



(Rom 3:23 NIV) for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,



(Rom 3:24 NIV) and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.



And no one is perfect…We all fall short of the Glory of God… (Rom 3:22 NIV) This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference,



(Rom 3:23 NIV) for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,





That’s my two cents worth..:)

Ephesians 3:16-19 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

I am probably a bit late with this, but i still want to share my favorite verse. It is 1 Corinthians 3:7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. I think this makes it clear that God is the ultimate. We may sow a seed and water it a bit, but he is the important factor in all of it. :D
