I have, myself, quite enjoyed reading the entirety of the books by Douglas Adams, as well as Robert Heinlein. I did, in addition, perceive Demian of Herman Hesse to be terribly wondrous.

My current favorite books are Eastern Orthodox Chritianity, A Western Perspective -- by Daniel B. Clendenin (I think that's how's his name is spelled)
and The Byzantine Wars, I don't have the auther's name right now, but the book is really good is diagraphing, explaining, and showing every aspect of the wars of Byzantium.
