Have you lost all reason becuase of some damn religion? You all seperate yourselves based on religion when in truth you are all human. Don't get your panties in a bunch so soon, let me state my points.

If I were to tell you that your wife/husband was cheating on you what would you say? You'd ask for evidence right? You would ask me for proof and pictures, dates, etc. If I told you that eating ice cream turned you invisible you would ask the same, right? So why do you guys so blindly follow religion and exclude it from reason? I'm not saying that anyone's religion is wrong, but one thing I am saying is that while we are on this earth there is no proof that ANY religion is true becuase religion is just theory. For every religion there has been a man out there who thought it up in his head and thought it a reasonable solution to the questions he needed answers for. Sometimes religion was used to control people, other times it was just to explain.

So why make all the fuss about some God that you created? Why not just cut out the middle man and realize that you all are Gods. There are over 6 billion Gods out there. We all as human beings have the power to change the world we live in. No god controls this world, only the animals and mother earth itself have any control. I mean hell, if you guys wanted to worship anyone why not worship the earth? It has everything we need to survive. So maybe while you're tearing down forests to build churches and missionaries and all of that you should start thinking that maybe you're killing the God that really exists.

I have a mission and I'll be damned if anyone stops me. But I want us to embrace who we are. We are mankind and we have more power than you could ever imagine. I want you to go outside right now and scream it out loud. Let everyone know that you are human and be damn proud of it. And we have the ability to figure out what REALLY DOES happen in the next world. It is beyond us now but maybe if we threw out these religious theories and started looking for answers then we could lay religion to rest. But even if we can't find answers we shouldn't care about the after life. I mean what if this is the after life? We should be having fun, living life, working hard, and doing all of this under the influence of no drug. And the strongest drug known to mankind is religon.

With all the love in the world,
L.R.R.

P.S.: I would have posted this in the Christian section of the forums but I guess that since I don't kiss Jesus' ass I can't be a part of that.

O.K., I'll bite.

The standard joke that God made man in his own image and that man then returned the favor actually has something about it worth pondering for any sincere religious person, regardless of whose butt they kiss.

That being said, it does not prove that there is no creative, governing and benevolent force in the universe beyond the individual human imagination, as you seem to imply. Ultimately we are all seeking to find meaning in our lives which extends beyond our own puny little human experiences, and we find it unacceptable to assume that our lives can have no such meaning. There are many concepts that we accept, not on the basis of empirical evidence, but on the basis of their foundational significance to our lives: concepts such as love, justice, truth, honor, cause and effect, and even time. None of those can be empirically and logically proven to exist, but we find life without them too stupid to comprehend. Thus we postulate their existence for our own needs, and we don't think any the less of ourselves for it. I believe in God still for much the same reasons. Is that a problem?

I would agree that there should be more rational critique of messages that different people believe that they have received from God himself, but that is a separate issue from believing that we should limit our worship to ourselves and the things we can see in the world around us. This makes me a moderate, subject to attack from both sides here, but so be it.
