Sorry if this is the wrong forum i just really need to vent. So today i caught a girl peeing in the stairwell in the apartment building that i live in. Why would anyone do that? Has anyone of you ever done anything like that? Mabye its not a huge deal and im just overreacting i dont know.

Perhaps she did not have all of her mental faculties, intoxicated, homeless, physically ill, who knows. Sometimes those situations can present an opportunity to minister to the person, but it's only by God's grace that we aren't peeing in stairwells ourselves.

I've heard of this kind of thing happening. Those instances were about street people who often have no available public rest rooms, and merchants close theirs to everybody in order not to become the community toilet for people they think will drive away other customers.

However, I don't know the status of the girl you were referring to.

Without knowing anything about the circumstances of the situation, it's impossible to make a judgment.

I've been in enough situations in my life that it's definitely been God's grace that has kept me from peeing in a number of what would have been embarrassing circumstances.

Sorry to hear it. I’ve never ever needed God’s grace to decide not to pee in a hallway. I love people too much to do that to them. It’s a inconceivable as purposely damaging someone.

It wasn't a matter of a "deciding not to pee." It was a matter of whether the circumstances--such as being in a required location during military operations--would allow me to go to a latrine when necessary.

But I'd had an uncle who had lots of combat experience tell me once, "Never miss a chance to take a nap or take a leak...you don't know when you'll get the next one."

These days, I'm an old man with prostate issues. It's still a matter of God's grace, not by decision on my part. Except that I'm more much more conscientious about not missing chances to take a leak or a nap.

You can’t tell the difference between someone purposely peeing in the hallway when a toilet is near and having no toilet and needing to hold it? Why didn’t she hold it? God didn’t give her grace?

Until you have been some kind of place you have no idea what you are capable or incapable of doing. Human beings are still human beings, all made in the image of God. If we start thinking what's wrong with people instead of fully acknowledging God's grace that we are where Christ has brought us to, then we nullify God's power and make others so beneath us we could never relate to them, when the truth is that we have more similarities than we have differences with EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF THE HUMAN RACE. We were created to reflect God's image. We are not there yet, but the work that Jesus has begun in us, he is faithful to complete, according to Paul.

How do we know a toilet was near? We don't know anything about the situation. We don't know if she was homeless. We don't know if she had a key to any apartment. We don't know if that stairway was indoors or outdoors (in Texas, most apartment stairwells are exterior to the building). You've made a bunch of assumptions about the situation that are not warranted by the information we've been given.

Why would anyone do that?

Maybe she really had to go and could not hold it, sometimes that happens, and it is better than having wet pants or dress which could lead to a UTI. Maybe she is homeless and has nowhere else to go, or just maybe her mental acuity may be lacking.

By whose standards? All have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. That was the point I was trying to make, not to accuse or offend. As you say, you just never know 'til you know.

Pretty messy and very unholy...pagans do such things I Guess in today's world. Maybe on drugs??? Sinful nature not under any control yet if she is a Christian.
