In this country you can not say God in school. You can not pray in school, teachers can lose their jobs for this. You can not have a Bible in school. You are not allowed to say God made man, but you are aloud to say man came from a monkey. Even though evolution is a religion it is allowed because it is the religion of science. You must put your faith in evolution to believe it. Mind you there is no proof for any of it. It is all a guess, or as science likes to say to cover up the fact they made something up it is a theory.

Theory we are to put faith in because after all some of them were right, but would theories hold up to Bible standards, that is the ground for a book being called prophecy. Lets look. The jews for thousands of years have had this set standard. If one prophecy is wrong, or does not come true it is False prophecy. Just one. How many theories have been wrong? Yet people still say science is the way. Why because we are smart, really that is not the case through out history. Has science been right some times yes, doesn't change the fact they ask you to place you faith in one mans guess(Theory), and they teach as fact even though it is not proven, but wait they say God is not real because you can not prove he exist. I can, but not some one who refuses to believe. But wait you can not prove evolution yet it is taught as fact in the schools? Seems like some one is stacking the deck. There is one set of rules for science and science uses another set for God which they them self do not follow.

Should we do a way with science no, but we should stop putting are faith in it, and teaching it as fact when most of it is theory.

so what else is wrong. Well they push God out of the court room, when the first laws for this country were taken straight from the Bible. They say we don't want God in are government, yet they still want God to bless America. The president says God Bless America and everyone cheers and agrees, yet if you say God says gay marriage is not aloud they curse you. Two set of rules again. They want Gods gifts and blessing but they don't want the law. They don't want to be told what to do? Yet many of these people if ask say they are Christian. Yet they preach against Gods word? Hypcirtical i think, and double standard again.

People say man can rule him self. That was satans argument to God. When these people say this they show who their father is. Let look can man rule him self. look at all the double standards just in this post between men and God. How can anyone rule with one set of standards for some and another for others. That is a divided nation and Jesus said a nation divided can not stand. So the nation of man can not stand. Why is man divided be cause he struggles with good and evil daily. God is good satan is evil, God gave us the choice which to chose. Ethier we chose God and Good and live by God or the country chose evil and lives by it. But the country can not stand on both and it will not stand on evil because Jesus will come back. But I think it has been prove through out history man can not rule man. Who rules you?

Just to set the record straight evolution says humans came from earlier humans who would have came from proto humans who would gave came from a earlier proto primate etc.... Evolutionary genetics has actually given us the first evidence that proves humans decend from a single male and a single female.

You can have private prayer in school. A teacher can have a Bible for personal use.

But Caesar's is Caesar's and Jesus says we are not suppose to purposely be religious in public so it is a fine line to walk not to hide your faith but not to publicly proclaim it just to be seen as religious.

Genetic Adam and Eve did not live too far apart in time : Nature News & Comment

Bustamante and his team sequenced the Y
chromosomes of 69 males from around the
world and uncovered about 9,000 previously
unknown DNA sequence variations. They used
these variations to create a more reliable
molecular clock and found that Adam lived
between 120,000 and 156,000 years ago. A
comparable analysis of the same men's mtDNA
sequences suggested that Eve lived between
99,000 and 148,000 years ago1 . “This idea of a
very recent common ancestor of all men is not
that true,” Bustamante says.
Meanwhile, a team led by Paolo Francalacci, a
population geneticist at the University of
Sassari, Italy, came to a similar conclusion by
studying the Y chromosomes of 1,200 men
from the island of Sardinia. The team
identified nearly 7,000 previously unknown Y-
chromosome variations and used that detail to
create their own molecular clock. The clock
helped to pinpoint key events in Sardinian
history, such as the rise of Neolithic
populations there and the arrival of Africans as
part of the Roman slave trade. It also
suggested that Adam lived 180,000–200,000
years ago, similar to initial estimates of Eve’s
age 2

Exciting news both Genetic Adam and Eve(different from other human lines that died out) lived most likely at the same time.

My kids and their teachers can and do talk about God in our public school. They also pray privately and collectively on different occasions. My son regularly carries his Bible and strives to witness to others. Our teachers do not teach the Word in class, but their compassion and caring exhibits caring that a Chrisitian should demonstrate. My community supports our teachers in this and would speak out if they were punished for their beliefs. I know that not every community is this way, but here - we do not fear to exhibit our Chrisitianity - even though the government may have moved away from supporting religion. American Christians have a right to worship and express their faith. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

Exactly. Evolutionists don't believe we "came from a monkey".
No, they say we came from Chimps. Evolution and the Bible are contradictory to each other. If you believe in Evolution, then you clearly don't believe the Bible.

No, they say we came from Chimps.

Actually evolution teaches that we and chimps share a common ancestor.

By the way bluelion, evolution is not a religion. Do you even know the difference between a scientific theory and religion?

Jesus said not to publicly proclaim your faith that is not true. Jesus said preach the word through out the world. Daniel threw the windows open when he prayed and there was a law against it. Paul certainly proclaimed his faith, and the list goes on.

Funny how people know the science so well don't know the bible as well. As Jesus said man can not serve two masters.

They believe we evolved from other animals give me that crap. There is not such think as a man walking out of the primal soup as they call where life was formed. Wow good way to defend your religion I rest my case.

re·li·gion [ri-lij-uhn] Show IPA
noun
1.
a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.
2.
a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects: the Christian religion; the Buddhist religion.
3.
the body of persons adhering to a particular set of beliefs and practices: a world council of religions.
4.
the life or state of a monk, nun, etc.: to enter religion.
5.
the practice of religious beliefs; ritual observance of faith.

well by this definition it would be sense science does have a belief in how the universe was formed, as well as nature.

You know it is funny how many people are defending evolution when it clearly goes against the Bible. But I thought you guys were Christians. Like Jesus said you know the tree by its fruit.

It is people like the ones defending evolution in here and check the box they are a baptist that give us Christians a bad name. My view is the Biblical view yours is the world view. God says we are to hold a biblical view. I don't think you are what you claim.

Jesus taught otherwise.

Evolution is elevated by some to be a religion. Do YOU even know the difference between a scientific theory and religion? Religion is "a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe..." It can also be "something of overwhelming importance to a person."

For some, evolution is such an important religion that they spend their time coming to Christian websites to preach their religion to Christians and try and undermine their faith. Sometimes (not speaking of anyone specific) they pretend to be Christians or former Christians because that helps them to gain leverage in their fight to undermine the faith of others. People have been caught at this and banned, though many simply make new accounts and return.

Regardless, evolution is only one thing that is wrong with America. We've allowed the enemy to gain the moral high ground by agreeing that he is advocating "tolerance" instead of the abolition of all morality. We even have Christians who believe that the wholesale slaughter of the unborn is a protected freedom of all Americans, and a right which must be paid for through taxes. How does a Christian hold that point of view?

How does a Christian support abortion on demand?

I did not say not to proclaim but just not to do it to just be seen as religious. It dose not matter if we appear to be Christian God wants us to be Christian, It is a fine line and I agree that people hide their faith when they should not. I know the Bible and the evidence line up with Adam being real it is just the timeline where I disagree with YEC's.

Where I disagree with the old earth proponents is their inability to validate their claims through Scriptures. It doesn't matter whether you like it or not, when you disagree with the Scriptures, God is right and you are wrong. YEC's recognize that through the genealogies listed in the Bible we have the generations and the approximate age of the Bible detailed to us. We know that the Great Flood was an actual event, and that Jesus spoke of it as such. We know that Jesus affirmed the veracity of the Scriptures and taught from them as one in authority. What we do not see is passages in Scripture to validate an old earth or which support evolution. If you have any such passages which are more convincing than the evidence we've seen in the Scriptures, please share them. After all, we are of many opinions but there is only one truth.

Implying Christians who accept modern science are not "real" Christians.

Dude, just stop, talk like that goes against forum rules i believe.

Nothing wrong with saying, "your wrong" to Christians who accept evolution, HOWEVER, you should NOT, say,

"your wrong, and btw not real Christians if you think evolution is truth"

The DNA code written by God says the earth is older than 3000 years which is a book of scripture.

Also Genesis 1:16-19 HCSB

God made the two great lights — the greater light to have dominion over the day and the lesser light to have dominion over the night — as well as the stars. God placed them in the expanse of the sky to provide light on the earth, to dominate the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. Evening came and then morning: the fourth day.

The Sun was not made till the fourth day therefore day is not 24 hours.

That is two types of scripture right there plus time is not constant throughout the Universe via relativity therefore one 24 hour period one place could be much longer other places.

Just how I see it.

Cont....

From wikipedia

" The Old-Earth figurative view can be traced
back at least to Saint Augustine in the 5th
Century who pointed out, in De Genesi ad
Litteram ( On the Literal [Interpretation of]
Genesis) that the "days" in Genesis could
not be literal days, if only because Genesis
itself tells us that the sun was not made
until the fourth "day"."

So even in 400 A.D. before we read the genetic code God wrote thus idea was accepted.
