I see alot of talk on here about whether or not Jesus is to be worshipped, and how we should worship God only. I see alot of different posts about this, and I was just wondering...

What IS worship? And how is obeisance different? I'm not interested in the "definition" unless you go on to say what it means to you personally. How does one "worship" and how does one "do obeisance"?

I'm not interested in debating whether or not Jesus is to be worshipped, I'm interested in personal views about the difference between worship and obeisance. Thanks all!!!
We are to worship God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit through everything we do. They are one.

You will get all kinds of answers for this question, but worshiping God & Jesus to me is being in the Spirit and thinking about Jesus, and feeling his love, when I feel his love, is when I start thinking about him, It goes hand in hand. Then the rest follows, sing, or talking to him.

I think everything being posted here goes along with worship. I don't think this has been said yet - it all has to be personal. It has to be between you and God, like best friends. Some people think worship is going to church and doing things just in church like singing or praying. Or they think being a member of a church or a particular religion means they are worshipping. It has to be personal, and worship should spill over into all of our life especially outside of church.

"to make obeisance, do reverence to" (from pros, "towards," and kuneo, "to kiss"),

To worship God is to come to Him and kiss Him. We can do this in our spirit, He is the Spirit in our spirit. Kiss Him! Love Him!

That's good! I like that! :)

hello,
Jesus taught us that God wants to be worshipped in two ways Spirit and Truth.

Worshipping God is how we love God. So God wants us to love Him in spirit, which is doing stuff like prayer. And He wants us to love Him in truth which is loving Him through our actions; which is doing good works. So, say a prayer and tell Him that you love Him and go out and voluteer at a soup kitchen or something and you'll be in there like swim wear :)

When I'm at MASS :priest: I'm in Heaven . . .

When Jesus is on my lips and in my mouth . . .:swoon:

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is worship as God desires to be worshiped and a celebration :liturgy: . . .

The Mass continues the Sacrifice of the Cross

We should assist at Mass with reverence, attention, and devotion.
